"Won't you kiss me, doctor," asks a beautiful woman. "No, it would be against my code of ethics," says the doctor. "Please just one kiss," begs the woman. "It's completely out of the question," he goes on. "I shouldn't even really be having sex with you."

A priest and a nun are on their way back from the seminary when their car breaks down. The garage doesn't open until morning so they have to spend the night in a B&B. It only has one room available. The priest says: "Sister, I don't think the Lord would object if we spend the night sharing this one room. I'll sleep on the sofa and you have the bed." "I think that would be fine," agrees the nun. They prepare for bed, say some prayers and settle down to sleep. Ten minutes pass, and the nun says: "Father, I'm very cold." "OK," says the priest, "I'll get a blanket from the cupboard." Another ten minutes pass and the nun says again: "Father, I'm still terribly cold." The priest says: "Don't worry, I'll get up and fetch you another blanket." Another ten minutes pass, then the nun murmurs softly: "Father I'm still very cold. I don't think the Lord would mind if we acted as man and wife just for a night." "You're right," says the priest. "Get your own blankets."

A man takes a week off work and decides to play a round of golf every day. First thing Monday morning, he sets off and soon finds himself catching up with a stunning woman playing in front of him.
He suggests that they play against each other for the rest of the day and she agrees. The woman proves to be very talented, and wins on the last hole. Afterwards, she accepts the man's offer of a lift home and, on the way, admits she hasn't enjoyed herself so much for a long time. "In fact," she says, "why don't you pull over so I can show you how much I appreciate it." So the man pulls over and, to his delight, the woman performs oral sex on him. They arrange to play golf again the next morning. Once again the woman wins, and she shows her appreciation in the same way on the journey home.
This goes on all week, until Friday, when the man reveals he has booked dinner at a restaurant and a night of passion in a hotel. On the way there, the woman suddenly bursts into tears. "I can't do it," she says, "You see, I'm a transvestite." The man is aghast. He swerves violently off the road, and pulls the car to a screeching halt. "You fucking cheat!" he screams. "You've been playing off the ladies' tees all week."

Had yesterday off work so booked a day out on Reel Deal from Watchet marina. Forecast was poor with winds gusting to 40+ knt and rain but being from the south we had some protection from the land. First drop I had a cracking bite and after a few minutes and the fish staying deep, taking me all round the boat a nice unicorn broke surface. Dan swiftly netted it and at 12-6 I was well chuffed. Unfortunately it was downhill from there with just a few small thornies, straps and a single whiting and doggie landed by the crew
Fairly play to Dan the skipper we had 4 moves trying to find a few more fish and on the last Mark I found a codling around 4lb so happy days. By then it was dark, the wind had increased even more and rains coming straight at me so was glad when lines up was called and we had a 5 minute steam back to the marina.

Avoid blue poly like the plague. It floats and is therefore much more at risk of wrapping round your prop when recovering your anchor using the Alderney method, plus it's abrasive on your hands and doesn't coil nicely when stowing. Seriously, use nylon - either 3 or 8 strand. If you buy in bulk you should have enough rope for your main and your spare set-ups. 220m coil for £110. Link below.

Don’t bother with the blue stuff. It’ll frei and tangle like you wouldn’t believe.

L'Esprit d'Aventure is an ST780. Built in Spain in 2002 and registered in France. I bought her in 2016. She is moored in the St Cyprien Marina on the French Med coast near Spain
The engine is a 150bhp Volvo Penta that had only done 180 hours when I bought the boat in 2016. A bit chuggy and only does about 11 knots, but she is very frugal on fuel so that compensates I suppose.
The build quality is solid and the previous owner, who had her from new, lived in Norther France and apparently only used her for 2 weeks of the year, hence the low hours. The interior is immaculate and nights on board have been very comfortable.
Whilst it is very enjoyable being out on the water down there, with 300 days a year sunshine, I have not found the fishing very productive. The bonito are good fun and good eating, especially smoked. Apart from that I've only caught small mackerel and various small bream type characters such as pageots, etc. The French tend to keep them all, regardless of size, which is maybe why there are so few bigger ones. I have heard stories of occasional tuna and dentex by locals, but not caught any or seen any being landed by local angling or commercial boats.

Thanks for sharing! As Luke said on your Intro thread, there's no boat snobbery here - and actually I'm rather envious that you can be on the water in 5 mins! It takes me at least 90 mins from door to wheelhouse.
I can see the advantages in a boat like yours, not only in terms of cost of ownership but let's face it, often the best sessions are those that happen on the spur of the moment, snatching a quick 30 mins whilst the gulls are working close to shore. With that level of flexibility I bet you're able to get more fish on deck than most of the bigger boats 👍

So, after introducing myself, I will now introduce my UK boat.
A 2.9m Quicksilver Alu-Rib. Fitted with dingy wheels, she can be out of my garage and on the water ready to fish, in about 5 minutes.
The 9.8 Tohatsu gets her on the plane at about 1/4 throttle. FT feels ridiculously fast in such a tiny boat, especially in a little chop. Had to put the fuel can in the bow and fit a tiller extension to manage the trim.
Obviously not as good as a grown up boat as the waves get bigger, but in quieter conditions, she makes an excellent fishing platform and provides a lot of fun.
Another bonus is that the cost to buy the boat and engine new, plus insurance and all the fuel used this year, has been less than a years marina fees for my boat in France.
I mainly fish in Conwy Bay and around Puffin Island. Lately I have started exploring the Menai Straits and look forward to more of that.
    Tight lines y'all 😀

What an excellent place it was, the fishing more than the accommodation tbf, but it was all that was needed. Some excellent fish were caught including a 200lb+ halibut, which fell to one of the PBSBAC members. @Maverickand @MegaByte both know him very well. I’m surprised they've not persuaded him to visit us yet!
Any way, my best fish was an 88lbr, it was an exhausting trip but well worth the effort! Highly recommended.
