  1. I have been having a think about it but no, most of the time I fish them straight up and down. I have trotted them down tide and eventually hit dabs πŸ˜†
  2. 😱 Nightmare! Hope you can get it sorted, I will be manually writing mine down next time I get the opportunity
  3. I was only messing, I have no problems with my lowrance elite 5 combo even though it's about 8 years old it does more than I require of it. I just need to paddle out to marks and get an idea of the bottom structure, relief shading and side scan are more than I need
  4. When a man is down waddaya do? Give him a kickingπŸ‘ž seriously though, Lowrance πŸ‘
  5. Similar. I wonder why people don't take a bit more care of their equipment? Throwaway society?
  6. Never tried ray/skate before but I believe you need to get it off the cartilage ASAP to make the best of it, is this true?
  7. Just wondering how you store yours? Reason behind it is seeing some boats in the marina with rods in holders all rigged and ready to go or shoved in the wheelhouse. I know that there are anglers and there are anglers but it can't do them any good being left out in all weather. Also I have just bought a padded rod bag as my rods have picked up a couple of broken rings over the past few years so I'm just being nosey.
  8. Not this weekend but next hopefully, possibly a few shore trips for flats in between as we need some tope bait for June
  9. Not for me, I have too many thanks.
  10. Some lumps there, especially the cod.
  11. OK! Here's my set up. First things first, no I don't use the brick, it's just for scale. Bottom is my warp, just mousing line from German supermarket, large loop so I can take the anchor chain on and off easily as I have used bouys to anchor off. Then .75kg folder and if you note I put a shackle on it as the ring pulls out of the anchor if I break out. Break out is a small cable tie with a small nick in it so it should pull out easily but you need to test it and remember to take a couple with you just in case. Top anchor is 1.5kg which doesn't need the shackle as the ring doesn't pull off the end and the cable tie attaches directly. Hope this helps @Saintly Fish
  12. It appears I made a booboo, no idea how... Sway is good too but that's our Spanish holiday choon, from "Sexy Beast"
  13. Not sure how that happened? It should have been Michael Kiwanuka's "Hero"
  14. I have a .75kg folder and have used it on a river and at sea, both with light flow, but they are used by jetskiers too apparently... https://www.google.com/search?q=0.75+kg+folding+anchor&oq=0.75+kg+folding+anc&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j33i160l2.21966j0j7&client=ms-android-samsung-gj-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
  15. My mate went out with his partner today to a different area and had a lot of small codling and a couple of sizeable fish too. All on the muppet rigs I made too 😊
  16. We would only use it a couple of times a year so it would be a waste really.
  17. Today was just a day of trialling a couple of things. We tried using the plastic bag bait dropper system and it worked perfectly, our system of breaking out of rough ground and dropping onto a specific mark. Two out of three ain't bad πŸ˜€
  18. Knew it was going to be difficult today as its that time of year and lots of rain recently. No porpoises, or guillemot and very few bites, so after a couple of hours on rough ground we went to a wreck on sand to try and anchor uptide and get into it, but we didn't get it right and were beyond and to one side. You could say that we were fishing the scour, but that might not be totally correct πŸ˜‰ I had a set of mini muppets on one rod and slowly bumped it down tide and got several bites but didn't connect and on the last drop I didn't even feel the bite and reeled in a palm sized dab that you could have read the newpaper through. Not even big enough for tope bait but not a blank. Tight lines everyone!
  19. We are... Can't wait! Even though it's the quiet time of year up here I'm sure that there will be a doggie or a 'ting to keep us amused
