Yep, gets the 👍from me and several of my friends and lots of others I speak to, good quality gear tends to sell itself by word of mouth. 

It was one of those days, everybody doing more or less the same thing, so thought I'd try a jelly on a 6/0  just to be different, whether it "worked" or not I can't say, but it didn't deter the fish which means I will be more likely to try it again. Not something used in our area much. Will get more chance to experiment when my own boat is in the water
 

Funny how "experts" say that they prefer crustaceans and squid, yet a mackerel/jelly worm gets one! We got several on two hook flapper rigs and mackerel strip.

First one of the year today, out on High Flyer 2.
Plan was to get out after some maccy, then on to some bass and tope....... The weather had other ideas. We arrived to a 14mph SW wind, so we headed to some bass marks to hopefully pick up some mac. However, we were getting the crap kicked out of us and no fish showing. We headed in a bit to try some marks that were showing fish, however, the wind was pushing us off the drift and the fish were having none of it. We ended up coming in right close, to a hole that has saved many days out. With the tide falling away, we were hitting a steady stream of doggies and one smoothie boated. The tide eventually turned and ran hard enough to stop the boat swinging, and the digs pretty much disappeared, but more whiting. I decided to try a jelly worm tipped with mack and had my pb smoothie, prob only around 4lb, but only ever had pups before now. The doggies returned, a seal poked his head in to watch and some idiot was seen paddling in from well the wrong side of scroby sands on a kayak..... He eventually made it in against the switching wind, god only knows where he had been.....
That was pretty much the day, we got wind burn, sun burn, salt burn, drenched in rain and sea spray and everything in between. Even the seagulls passed up the day to remain in town outside the chippy.......

Right, the floor was redone with 18mm marine ply, everything around the transom seems pretty solid. There is some soggy ply at the front on underside of cabin, but well away from cleat. Possibly caused by a hole through the front, possibly access to the anchor well.
Yeah, the pod looks shit, but it is solid, good enough for this year anyway. As I like the space at the back, I don't think I'd like to have a splash well there BUT I could be tempted to take it back to inboard diesel in the future........
Just been and picked the new trailer up for it today, so will get that prepped during next week, and hopefully have the boat on it next weekend..... Needless to say, not only have I got and outboard to sort for a customer this weekend, but some idiot has just given me a full time job starting Monday!!

Started off quiet well offshore but just a haddock and crabs mullahing the bait. Inshore we were hitting lots codling to 3-4 lb and a cracker of a pollock for the skipper on light gear. We tried big lures, little lures, big baits, little baits and it was either mackerel hitting them on the drop or codling on the bottom little chance of getting the species we haven't got as yet in the competition apart from the haddock. Even 8/0 meat hooks with a 6" muppet and 1/2 mackerel fillets were getting codling on them. 
It was not all action all day but it was a laugh and we have a codling a piece and mackerel for bait in the winter. Tea was cod with tumbet. 

Bit of mixed fishing this weekend. Managed Huss, conger, gurnard, ballan and cuckoo wrasse, cod, coalfish, dogfish, weever, mackeral, pouting, bass, launce and pollack. Loads of pollack on offshore reefs. Inshore was a bit slow, so much bait fish in the water I guess?

Is a traditional Mallorca dish, similar to ratatouille but has potatoes as well as the vegetables. 

The top one is a tile fish and the bottom one is a black drum
