  2. thanks for the info boys just fibre glassed the bearers up in the shed and put the heater on so its not so much glass work on the boat
  3. i will be ok on the fibre glass and prep work its going to be realgining the engine back up do you think oak bearers are ok at the moment the shaft is bolted direct to the gearbox would i be better of fitting one of those r and d cushion spacers our go for the same set up many thanks daio
  4. i have been told that i can do it by a feeler gauge i cant see how a laser would help
  5. good evening all i have got to change my engine mounts next week and one of the stingers is a bit rotten i have got some oak timbers to go back in our is there something better to use plus i will need to glass them in and then try and realign the engine have any body changed them is it best to just lift the motor a bit and do one at the time our just lift it right out many thanks daio

  7. its still the same on stability with it out i will be putting some back in it comes out of the water in 2 weeks so i can fit new engine mounts and new antifoul and anodes thanks for getting back boys
  8. well got over to the boat this morning after that bad weather yesterday and done a test on how the ballast was performing then took the boat over to the pontoon and removed all the ballast from the middle part of it and the bow added all the weight up and it was over 700 pound there is still about 200 pound on the stern did the test again then side to side and there was hardly any difference in movement the boat has raised out of the water a good 2 inches the speed was about the same so am i better of leaving it out to see if its better on fuel
  9. yeah i will do butt its a very heavy boat anyway i bet the boat must weigh 3 our 4 tonns updates to follow
  10. morning mate it might even be more than that this saturday i am going to remove it all and the see what she sits like and take it for a little run with the gps set up to see if there is any difference in speed aswell it does seam to use a fair bit of fuel roll on saturday ..
  11. hi mike daio here mate have you got a load of ballast in your colvic i am trying to fine out if i would be better of with out it mine i would has a guess its about 800 kilos whats your opinion on it mate many thanks daio

  14. did you take all the ballast out our leave it in mate i think mine is over the top it was like it when i bought it i was thinking could i remove it it must be useing more fuel

  17. hi guys do any of you stick extra ballast down in the bilge to make your boats a bit more stable i have only got a colvic seaworker so i would think that it should not affect my speed many thanks daio
  18. hiya mate the engine might not like that new fuel thats out i always put the expensive one in its only a couple of pence more good luck budd keep us updated
  19. is there clean fuel in there mate petrol doesent last long there might be moisture in the old stuff
