  1. Cheers, If you are down and spot me do give me a shout!
  2. Neither of those although I’ve fished on both. I crew for Andy Bridson on Patricia Rose normally when he needs a hand or has a boat load of rod hires.
  3. 😂 I have one of the Step Aerobics ones which works well and if you are really stumpy you can get the inserts to raise it! 😉
  4. A Mercury Verado 300. You make a good point about the field of vision! I’d been on Austen Goldsmith’s Zen2 (20’CC)down in Cornwall many years back and liked it but me being only 5’9” wondered if the high prow of the 26 would be problematic. That’s why I went out to Guernsey to trial one. As it turned out it’s workable but I’ve also got a small step that fits nicely behind the CC and also slips under the seat when not needed.
  5. Cheers and fortunately I’m 150 yards away from the dry stack and it’s all downhill so I can afford a little bit more slipping before I need to worry! 👍
  6. I’m generally grumpy and selfish so don’t have many friends! That solves the issue of others moving about the boat! 😁 Also as I’m sort of retired I only go out when I want to and if it’s crap weather or conditions I don’t bother! 😁
  7. Yes I did. I took the ferry over had to isolate in a hotel and then spent a few days banging around the Channel Islands with the builder familiarising myself with the handling and electronics package. If you are not familiar with the area it’s a bit daunting as unlike Plymouth there are hard pointy bits everywhere! 😳 I’d done the trip back before, crewing for my mate whilst we escorted another boat so I knew what to expect so wasn’t too phased. As it turned out I’d chosen a good weather window so it was a piece of p***! I came out of St Peter Port early morning, put in a couple of waypoints set the autopilot and opened her up…….next stop Plymouth!
  8. Yes she has and that’s the beauty of the deep chines as she turns on a remarkably tight circle and at speed with no twitching whatsoever. More importantly she’s also a very dry ride! 😁
  9. Cheers, I’ve a mate who does a lot of the photography for the SW sailing community and as I’d taken him out for a spin on my boat unbeknown to me he got a couple of snaps but will do a proper shoot of her underway when the conditions are right. He did some for my last boat and they were stunning which I’m sure helped when it came to selling her as she went really quickly.
  10. Thanks Andy, I picked her up in June from Patrick who builds them in Guernsey. She’s been a 15 year plan and as I mostly fly fish and lure fish I wanted the CC version so I could move around more freely. Whilst waiting for her to be built I had the 20’ CC version as a stop gap (photo below). Turned out the 20 was more than capable for what I needed but the 26 is a totally different boat and in a totally different league.
  11. Hi all I’m new to this site so thanks for the welcome. I’m a Plymouth based boat owning angler. I’m out a few times a week either crewing for a local charter skipper or on my own Atlantis 26 CC which is kept in the local dry stack. I’ve only been fishing for about 50 years so every day’s a school day.
