Just voted "yeah", subject to having a trailable boat afloat God willing. We have to think positive.☺️ Geoff.

    Andy,
Tides permitting I like to get the anchor down and settle to a wreck.
The obvious candidates usually get a visit to see my boat such as eels (some very big), pout (smelly but good bait), ling (tasty) and Cod (once in a blue moon).
Interstingly though I have had my biggest Bass (14lb), biggest Pollack (17.5lb), biggest Black Bream (4lb 10onz) and biggest Tope (42lb) all whilst bait fishing wrecks at anchor!
I love drifting for Pollack and Bass too so i tend to drift whilst the tide is in full run and then get the hook down for the slacker times in the tide run thereby getting the best of both worlds.
    Tight lines John

Give it a go Neil ...... apart from the initial cost profile you have got nothing to lose. If it doesn't work out like you hoped then it is pretty easy to reverse back to where you are now with just a small dent in your wallet.
However, it does damage easily so you will need to be mega careful when berthing an also when any boats pull along side.

Decent polishing machines are DA (dual action) rather than concentric action. There is also a vast difference in Quality. I bought an Argos version for about £55, but it was uncomfortable to use and vibrated a lot. The DA's used in the FG works cost about £300 each, but are far better, especially if using for several hours in a day.
The Argos one would be fine if polishing about once a year, but the professional machines are  faGeoff.r better.

There is a possibility of some settled weather next week as we head into some HP on Sunday through to Thursday, however, the current projected position of the HP centre will make it a marginal window at best ...............I'm itching to get out for some wreck Pollock etc ............

Given that I need to get my hull polished, I wonder if we can get a volume discount for both @Saintly Fish? Or we split the cost of a decent DA polisher and DIY?

    Farecla G3 or G6 , followed by a good boat wax .......................
Electric polishing is quick ............ 2 or us did one side of a Bavaria 36 yacht  on a short tide window, then turned it on the high tide and did the other side on the next tide window ...........

Good advice Neil. Even if JonC does not oblige, your gelcoat is far better than a film wrap.  Once you have mastered the polisher you could try self isolating in Lincolnshire and do mine.  Geoff.

The only bad thing I have heard about is that 'wrap' is very easily damaged, nowhere near as tough as Gel coat ..............
Get stuck in there with an electric polisher, followed by a good quality wax ................ JonC will do it for you ..........🤣

More your style than mine NeiI. You Know that I am a trailer sailor. Plenty of scope for you there - you could fit masses of cushions, curtains, wall hangings and pictures and whilst it is a bit old for you it would fit nicely in the marina and you could continue with your beach fishing and floundering. Geoff.☺️

As promised got a bit more down today, and remembered the camera! Actually that's a lie, it was still in the truck from yesterday......
Right, so what was achieved? I would say 90% of the gring is done now for the floor. Also managed to work into 3 of the 4 corners that were a pain. Also managed to get the floor "bracing" out as well. More on that in a minute.....

    Now for the fun bit.......
Note all the straight edges! This was part of the floor bracing, that I can only say was pretty much dropped in  and left, apart from about half a dozen tabs!!!
Basically, cut it in half and pulled it out!!....... Grand job eh?
Anyway, the boy had managed to soak himself washing his crosser down from yesterday so that was it...... Better get some sanding discs and backing pads on order and get the hoover out.....
Then make a decision about how it's going to be on the rebuild.......... Got time yet, as got to lift the outboard yet and get all the steel off so we can tackle the transom....

On a good note, the intended aux for this, a Johnson 6hp that bought for not a lot off the bay, the lad had cleaned the carb out and put back together. The other night, we shot some fresh fuel in it (have new adaptor for it now) and after much playing, it started!! Yay.......
Will get round to servicing it a bit at a time, it may want crank seals yet, but will say once the fuel pump is repaired and plugs replaced.
