This is a story about a couple who had been happily married for years, the only friction in their marriage was the husband’s habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke the noise would wake his wife and the smell would make her eyes water and make her gasp for air.
    Every morning
she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was making her sick. He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor, she was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out. The years went by and he continued to rip them out. Then one Christmas day morning, as she was preparing the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound asleep, she looked at the innards, neck, gizzard, liver and all the spare parts, and a malicious thought came to her. She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband was sound asleep and, gently pulling the bed covers back, she pulled back the elastic waistband of his underpants and emptied the bowl of turkey guts into his shorts. Sometime later she heard her husband wake with his usual trumpeting which was followed by a blood-curdling scream and the sound of frantic footsteps as he ran into the bathroom. The wife could hardly control herself as she rolled on the floor laughing, tears in her eyes! After years of torture, she reckoned she had got him back pretty good. About twenty minutes later, her husband came downstairs in his blood stained underpants with a look of horror on his face. She bit her lip as she asked him what was the matter. He said, “Honey you were right… all these years you have warned me and I didn't listen to you.” “What do you mean?” asked his wife. “Well, you always told me that one day I would end up farting my guts out, and today it finally happened, but by the grace of god, some Vaseline and two fingers. I think I got most of them back in…….............…..”

I was idly going through my pictures on my phone and came across a couple I took from the plane on our way to the Costa del sunshine. Thankfully the clouds were left way back in the Midlands so I could see below us and I didn't realise that when crossing the channel if you see Weymouth behind the wing, in front is Guernsey.
It certainly makes the world a bit smaller.

    Have a nice Friday

Some of the best boat fishing is in the winter months.
We went out on Saturday, -3c when I left home and -1c at Polly Steps.
We went to 5 wrecks, all off Berry Head, and all of them were netted, so a quick dangle inshore at the Mudstone Ledge produced some nice Pollock to 4lb, a Tub of 3lb, 20 Mackerel with 10 keepers, and a couple of decent sized squid.
This weekend is shaping up quite well for a trip to the wrecks off Salcombe and the Skerries.

Most of Bristol Channel is now suffering from cod fever and the quest to find a unicorn but I had other plans…
Lovely little weather window yesterday so had to make the most of it. Plan was to try inshore for tuna and head out to reefs to see if any life about.
Sadly no tuna showing but the reefs were alive with fish. Mainly polllack in 4-5lb class with some bigger, best going just under double figures. Also a few coalfish to 5lb as well.

Managed, scad, mackerel, Ballan and cuckcoo wrasse, pollack, coalfish and pouting for the day 🙂 great fun on light gear 🙂
Now looking to get out on Saturday 🤔

Just a couple of piccys, will take some more next time we’re out. The helm one was taken at 27+ knots at 3600 revs. Well impressed so far but will take a few trips to get her how we want her.

You'll have noticed there wasn't a pilot 520 ablaze on the Solent today. It actually works! Sort of. I don't think it's getting full throttle and barely moves in reverse. Hopefully it's just the cables that need adjusting. Walker outboards supposedly did them so I'll call them Monday.

Very quiet on the fish front, just a small whiting and a tiny doggy but at least it's not a blank

to be honest I just want to prove the engine works, any fish are a bonus. If the engine doesn't work look out for a burning pilot 520 floating around the solent

I’ve had an offer from a boat owner there with a Quicksilver, bit bigger than mine, to go out with him to help him learn more about fishing and he says we could do a deal whereby I do cleaning and maintenance on his boat then I can use it for longer fishing trips on my own…..
take some thinking about will that one 🤔

recently purchased a boat in the milford haven, had a few trips out with not much to report. Weather has been diabolical but did manage a trip out Saturday during a short weather window, lovely going out, less so on return!
but we did manage to find some quality fish.
boat out for some routine maintenance for about 2 weeks, hopefully they'll still be around when we get back and weather allows.
looking forward to learning more about the fishing in the area.

Brian I believe that was my boat before you bought it.  I owned it in partnership with another guy, the partnership didn't work (do they ever).
We kept it in holes bay then sold to a chap.  Within a few weeks of him owning it there was a storm and the front bollard/cleat pulled out, she then ended up on the rocks on holes bay road
