Wow! Lovely pics and kudos to you for the effort you must have gone to to build the boxes. Great that they were used successfully. 👍

Im a carpenter so wasn't difficult to build, there's plenty of info online. I had the materials and time as we were off for lockdown and was looking for something to get the kids off the Xbox. It took a year and half for our first owls though.  I'm thinking of putting a camera in the box this year.  Was great watching them get bigger. Shit me up on a few morning as I would walk in and one would be sitting on a bench dead still and I wouldn't see it till I was right up to it.

Been there, done that - only to find that the one original item (back tyre) was bald and did not hold air. Geoff.🙂

If you read it he has overhauled it. Only the back left tyre is original

Pretty much, new axles, wheels and brakes and a bit of welding

Good engines. I know some folks throw shade on Suzukis but the two that I've had have been faultless... hope I haven't jinxed myself now! 🤣👍

only thing that ever went wrong was a fuel pump when I was running her up on the mooring, apart from that in the nearly 8 years I’ve had her shes Not missed a beat. I put a Suzuki auxiliary on as well and that’s been just as good. I really rate Suzukis

That rig looks really smart. Nice looking trailer too, but what has happened to the mudguards? Bad driving? or Essex louts? I must admit that I have damaged one of my mudguards. but I blame my wife for not keeping a good enough watch out on a very tight corner near Falmouth. That rig deserves an occasional trip out of Essex if you have a vehicle (LR/) capable of pulling it. Trailer sailing opens up soooooo many more opportunities. Geoff. 🙂

I bought the boat  without a trailer and after looking for one for months I (ironically) found this one in the farm where I have my workshop slowly rotting away. Paid £300 for it and rebuilt it but haven’t got round to putting mudguards on  It, I only tow it about half a mile to launch. But your right I could tow it to other marks. Not sure about launching it from my van though. Curreny I get the local park and ride to launch at the start of the season and take it out at the end.

    Yeah, welcome on.
Im over the other side B of the river at Bradwell, no doubt I’ll have seen you at some point whilst I’ve been going round in circles.
Things are livening up locally now, I’ve seen a few reports of bass, plus a few smaller hounds.
Get some pictures up of your boat, we love a boat picture

    Hi Jon

you probably seen me going round in circles as well. I  The boats back in the water next weekend. I didn’t get out as much as i wanted last year but I aim to correct that this year. I’m going to try and catch a decent Tope and plenty of bass and hounds.

She looks lovely! What size Suzuki does she have on the back? Do you trail her anywhere or just use the trailer for winter storage ashore?

Hi Andy, she has a 115 Suzuki, I just keep her on the trailer for winter.

  7. Hi guys

just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I've been fishing most of my life, mostly sea but a bit of pike fishing now and then.

I live in Brightlingsea in north Essex and have owned a Beneteau 650 for the last 8 years. Looking forward to being part of the group.
