Well launched at Fairbourne 8.00am fairly straight forward all good went out about a mile set anchor to allow small drift fishing good Tope / Mackrel /Pollack and even a Bass moved about a bit came in to about 1/2 mile from shore big engine packed in (Evinrude 50Hp switched to back up run about on that for a bit then that packed in 5.00pm. Fortunately only about 250 yds from shore in 6ft of water. But 4 mile from slip got a tow to Barmouth entrance then walked it 2 mile through 3ft of water with tide slowly coming in back to slip Thanks to son and his mate. Trailered okay and got home safe. 50 Hp sounded like roller bearings gone so head removed and stripped only to find it was top shaft bearing on leg no waiting on parts the joys of boating.

Rhyl and Barmouth for launch have lowrance reveal fishfinder and chart plotter so was hoping for marks rather than following or marking the charter boats for fish last boat was years ago spent most of its time at barrow in furness morecombe bay not a great choice for fishing but a day out. Had better luck in somerset in Bristol Chanel better quality and more fish. live in powys now dont want to be traveling to far.

Hi got my boat sorted now need to get her out need some marks for either from Rhyl or Barmouth with possible catches for this time of year and bait required. Any help appreciated.

May be hull common but splash well never seen before

Hi engine is 1980 stood for 10 years plus was seized filled with wd left for a week carbs all cleaned and stripped serviced new impeller and oil runs sweet as a nut with 150psi on both cylinders as manufactured. Same with the 10hp both running great on with painting now then electrics and then launch 2 weeks max hopefully. No sign of plate any where on boat just cant find any thing like it and need details for insurance.

No hull plate and 17ft tried google image have trolled 1000`s of images find similar but splash well always different hull is quite common. (Falkland Fisher Surf Pro ) Never been under water it has been painted all over with anti foul and left under trees for 10 years plus. Nearly finished prep for paint just need dry weather now forecast good for next week

emailed explorer elite manufacturers for help it came from that end of the world so could be.

All solid with a rotton wood on starboard rail all replaced and reglassed. All anti foul stripped off and sanded back had minor repairs in the past been stood for 10 years plus. Both engines now serviced and running. Had her about 2 weeks cost me £700 all in with refurb should stand me about 2k. Cant wait to get her on the water and get fishing . thanks for the info, regards Mark
