  1. Hi All,

I have an intermittent issue with the push button starter on my boat.

It's happened twice now while at anchor out at sea when I try to restart the motor nothing happens.

No green light on in the start position? no buzzer or fault codes showing and the digital display indicates the motor is in neutral.

I know when its in gear because it bleeps twice and moving the helm control to neutral it starts ok.

My issue is when in neutral with no bleeps nothing happens when the starter button is pressed?

Moving the helm control several times between forward and reverse seems to correct the problem.

It's as though an interlock is sticking preventing the starter from operating.

I've checked all connections I can see for any corrosion and all look fine.

All batteries are fully charged with shore based chargers.

Kill switch works ok so that can be eliminated.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  2. Hi Guy's

Following on from my request for advice please see below.

Subject: RE: Anti fouling plastic transducers

    HI Michael

    Thank you for your email.
It's  not recommended to use conventional antifouling on plastic transducers as the solvents will attack the plastic housing. There are other products in the market that are silicone or water based specifically made for use on transducers but not in our range.

    Kind regards

    John

Not sure if this applies to all antifouling but to be on the safe side I'll use one recommended for use on transducers.

  3. Hi all,

The lower unit on my Suzuki outboard has a section (skeg) that does not clear the water when tilted up fully.

The skeg is currently antifouled as is the pump assembly and bracket but the antifouling does not appear to be working as well as the hull antifouling (International Micron 300)

The international Micron 300 on the hull is in perfect condition so can I use it on the section of the lower leg, pump and bracket etc?

Also the white Motor Mounting pad on the transom also fouls up badly so can I antifoul this as well?

Can I use Micron 300 on the transducer?

    Any Advice would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard. What a lovely looking piece of kit - a really great set up, Sorry that I don't recognise it, but what is the tow car, your whole set up looks fantastic, far too nice to have fish scales/guts everywhere (waiting for comments that I shall never have that problem!). Geoff.

Hi Geoff, tow car is a Mercedes GLC250d.
Boat has both sea water and fresh water deck wash so fishing is not a problem but I know what you mean.
