yes will be getting straight on to a new one today, just need to decide if there’s a need to hunt for a little extra quality in the material .. that’s probably the original unit. Which means 14years of tight screwing suppose these things can happen, unfortunately.

I've never heard of a bung thread stripping. Presume you'll need to replace the whole bung fitting, plus new bung? Top bodging to save the day.

Sorry to nag Josh, but you should always carry a wooden or cork plug, for those with sea cocks they should be carrying a size for every sea-cock ..................
BTW: Your plan was perfect and it definitely works, but once you have got rid of the water by planing, then run back to the stern and stuff some rag tightly in the hole with a screwdriver to pack it in ...........
On the RIB we don't have an outside bung, just a hull void drain into the sump, which is pumped by an automatic Johnson Bilge pump .............. for the deck I have 2 x 100mm elephant trunks and once lowered these remove water at the rate of 38,400Litre per Hour ...................I have only used them twice, once out on the wrecks I took a huge wave over the stern from a charter boat that should have known better (I gave him earache on 16) ................and the second time was drifting beam to the sea (2m swell in overfalls), when I took a huge wave over the tubes (next to no freeboard on a RIB) ...............

limington slip 
i have not yoused it myself, there is a good carpark by the slip.

How was the fog ? Andy and I were out on the solent and the return was probably 80 yards visibility at best

Well I was being kind seeing as you went to some effort to go get it!

Decided to try a spot on the spoils at Nab which has done us well in the past,  lumpy run out which pegged us back on speed so took a little bit longer than we were hoping for. 
Dropped anchor started fishing and realised I'd left my bag in the car which had all my food and drink in it d'oh, too late to go back for it now. 
Had a very busy day with loads of fair sized whiting a couple of which were just sub 2lb, sorry no pics from my boat as my bag also had my phone in it!!  Absolutely tons of smaller straps with a few better ones thrown in. Biggest of the day just under 40lb.   Annoyingly nearly all of them falling to our whiting rigs not the bigger baits geared up for some something a bit better to latch on to.
I had a take quite early on in the day which was going well on my scratching rig only for the hook length to let go (17lb flouro) I reeled in a Conger a couple of hours later that had my brand new hook and short section of line stuck in it's gob.  I've seen eels landed that have been snapped off before but usually very close to the time of loosing it not 2 hours later.
Had heard some very quiet noises that the Spurdogs were starting to show and that was the reason I ended up out there, sadly none showed today but a friend had landed a 14lber from nearby earlier in the week.  Did hear of some being caught today by the chatter on the VHF so hopefully we'll be lucky and bump into one or two next time out. 
Our buddy boat got a nice pic of us passing the forts on the way back in the fog,  radar is a godsend in those conditions.

Yes, we're out tomorrow. Somewhere west of Portsmouth Harbour, not sure where yet. I doubt we'll head that far. Just find a spot to sit tight in and see if we can tickle up a unicorn 🦄🦄

I did but not from there I went from my usual Chichester slip.
