  1. Ah sorry, probably posted on the wrong thread. please feel feee to move
  2. Went out yesterday with a fault in my fish finder in hope it would clear but it never did. The fault basically reads the transducer is not connected or reading. im going to try some connector spray. weird because the simulator and paper all read well
  3. Just uploaded my results in catch report. Pretty poor imo but something to learn by.
  4. Not sure how to grade todays visit but I’m leaning towards disappointing. started off on the hunt for mackerel. Had a few but never really got into a shoal or decent numbers. followed by a anchor session around by rame head on a large sandy patch. Nothing. then made the brave decision to go out to the eddystone. Had a few pouting and a red gurnard. nothing really more to note. Mitigation: my fish finder stopped working due to a connection fault so was working of navionics only. No real depth or wreck imagery my experience and knowledge is still questionable so maybe tactics and locations weren’t quite correct. first time out to the eddystone. Literally no idea where the ‘hot spots’ were. Putting it all down to experience (or lack of it) 🫡
  5. Seriously thanks all. I’ll try it all out and add a extra later of caution. Looking forward to reporting back after my first real venture this weekend. Weather looks good on Saturday so at a 5am wake up to get under way at 6am is planned. Catch those early mackerel and decide where to venture thereafter 🫡
  6. Hi, Ive just signed into navionics and got it on the iPad. Looks immense. I’ve also pinned down the local fishing marks left by others the wrecks are so clear so that’s a good starting point for me. when drifting, do you drop the weight and lure down to bed, real up a little and then drift over on a long trace?
  7. Is there anywhere specific for the eddy? Thinking of going out early Saturday for mackerel and then going out if the weather is good
  8. Hi all, I’m mark and new to the boating world. I’ve just bought a warrior 150 and have started to explore some areas within the Plymouth sound. Does anyone have any help on where I could venture to for a good starting out fishing spot. I’ve had a few mackerel but nothing else. I feel I’m a little restricted by the boat size but any help and pointers would be great.
