Right, so I have almost discounted the cruisette, I will go and look at it, paying attention to the gunnel height. It's local so no biggy. Also local is a flyer 17ft. which asode from rotten floors and transoms, I am aware the gunnels are also low, so view that as well....
Not so local is a 536, which along with all the possible late 70's boat flaws, is maybe more cabin than I would really like.
Ideally, for me at least, is an alaska 600. Not so ideal is the wedge they are currently fetching....... The search continues

@Saintly Fish why the facepalm emoji? It was a good gag. You're just being shellfish.

Good call Neil. That's what puts me off of a 17tf flyer as well. The later ones Garry Bull built, he raised the gunnels, but the early ones are low

suzook12 reacted to Geoff in Probably not fishy and not funny, but it amused me. lifted from another Forum.
A tough old cowboy from Texas told his granddaughter that if she wanted to live a long life, the secret was to sprinkle a pinch of gunpowder on her oatmeal every day. she did this religiously until she died at the age of 103. She left behind 14 children, 30 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren and a 40 foot hole where the crematorium used to be. Geoff.

Videostudio from corel does pretty much everything. Get the trial version, and they then may send you a good offer, but it is cheap anyway. This package has been around for years and was highly regarded before corel bought it.
Also the free version of DaVinci from Black Magic is very good, but being a professional editor it is harder to use.
I have gone away from GoPro as they are way too unreliable, with random turning off, overheating, and battery discharge issues. I now use a DJI Action 4 on the boat, and a cheap Wolfang for underwater stuff.

I know nothing of these boats Steve, but a quick google brings up a few pics, and it's not a boat I'd want to go fishing in unless on a clam lake. They have no depth to them internally by the look of it, so standing up and fighting a whiting could prove to be a danger?
I used to own a 19ft fletcher speed boat and the hull looks a similar shape, so I have no doubt that they will go and handle well, punching well above their weight. But a fishing boat it wasn't!

Just free it and clean it, oil or grease aint gonna hang around for long. If you do lube it, do it after you've been out
