  1. First thing I recognised was the little rod, thought to myself that looks fun. What line class are you using ? Great looking location in the background. I'm jealous of the young lads hair, only hair I have is off my dog now!!!
  2. Agree its a pain, especially if you are posting from a computer which doesn't have a way to downsize. On a phone it gives you sizing options after you have selected the images. Problem I find is trying to do a report with photos on a phone is that the keys are to small and awkward to work with. Im not into giant phones. Also if you don't slightly crop some pictures they turn upside-down for some reason. By the way, sounds like an awesome session.
  3. He's just jealous again because his slug can only do 18kts, you know how he can get๐Ÿ˜‰
  4. Don't watch any sport, never been into wasting my time watching other people do things while I could be out doing something more fun. Rarely put the tv on here at all, unless its a royal getting married of course.
  5. Prop test this afternoon. Firstly the conditions weren't great with a 1.9m swell warning on our bar crossing and once through the bar the chop was ugly. Solas 13 3/8 x 17 stainless, 3500rpm =40kh =3km per litre. 4500rpm =53kh=2.8km per litre. 6000rpm= 75 kh, to difficult to watch fuel flow due to conditions (hard to hold on!!!) This figures will obviously change a little when I get better conditions to get out in but I couldn't be happier with those results. I won't bother trying other props as this already exceeded my expectations. Far better economy from a bigger motor having to work less hard than smaller ones. The Honda 90 averaged 1.5km per litre at best.
  6. I was simply targeting a certain species over the weekend, however I didn't get a bite. Apologies ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Reefs today

In the first image behind the fella holding the pollack is something causing a fair amount of rust, what is it ?
  8. Careful, this is a yes or no thread. Management will be onto you staying this is a boating maintenance thread. Back on track, yes both days.

    Reefs today

Great size for eating, were these over rough ground or on a wreck ?
  10. Itโ€™s finding their letterbox, not even sure what country the tech teams are from, maybe they are simply IA robots taking the piss.
  11. That was another reason I dropped Lowrance, went from local technicians to overseas Indian tech help who seemed to know nothing about the units, it could take 45 mins simply spelling your personal details so they can give you a case number. They will also need the serial codes from the box or back of the unit, so tell him to have all that ready or his conversation with the tech guys will normally end until he has it. They will also ask what firmware version he's running and ask him to upgrade to the latest if there is one. They will most likely run him through a soft restart then a hard restart and run the unit on the boat between each of these. Ive been through this on 12in hds mk 3 units only to find firmware updates were the issue and getting the unit back to pre updates was a nightmare. This wasn't just Lowrance but Simrad evo 3 to. Im not alone with these issues, Navico need to lift their act. Hopefully your friend has checked all electrical contacts and has a fully charged battery. For sounders I like to go direct to the 12v battery and not through any bus bars or fuse panels (still have it fused). I also like to have the battery voltage displayed on the head unit from the menu setup. The slightest bit of corrosion on wires can cause issues with sounders.
  12. No it's just a fixed bracket to allow going from long to extra long, I was going to use a jacking plate but that pushes the weight back a bit to much on such a small boat. The extra long was at a good price costing me around 1200 quid to upgrade from the old 2007 honda 90. Its not a bad thing being able to keep the powerhead up higher out of the water away from any spray from transducers, prop wash etc. Im grateful I have a good outboard mechanic friend to help with the fitting as getting the wiring looms through a small channel up the centre of the hull was a nightmare, not something I would recommend doing.
  13. Most of the time its user error, often just the range is set wrong so that nothing can be seen on the head unit or those functions are turned off in the menu. In saying that I no longer use Lowrance or simrad due to the reliability of them.

    Tope

Isn't your mark at the boatyard on the hardstand.
  15. Here is another fine example just on the previous page from someone clearly not understanding the rules of this thread. How does this constitute going out on the weekend. Maybe the thread needs to head to a more simple Yes or No in regards to heading out on the weekend.
  16. I noticed that you don't need to go back very far to find others are also breaking the rules here in regards to going out on the weekend. This is not a statement ion heading out or not, simply another story of someone looking in a mirror ๐Ÿ˜˜
  17. This wasn't a report as it doesn't meet the requirements of a report. It was more a statement of heading out where I happened to catch small striped tuna which would of been used for the next day as bait (today). Which I suppose being a Monday long weekend doesn't meet the weekend heading out category, or does it. I will send our new noble king a message to find out if a Monday would constitute as a weekend or if he would need to check with the forum rules for clearance. If it had been a fishing report however I would of mentioned where I had headed out from, the vessel and people I fished with. I would of stated the rods and reels, lures and baits etc. I would of mentioned the distance offshore and other vessels networking the search for the fish. I would of mentioned sea conditions, water temperatures and water temp breaks in the water we searched for. I would of mentioned the whales, dolphins, albatross, gannets etc etc as key indicators in the search for the catch. However the fact I didn't mention those meant it didn't constitute a report. As for not knowing if today being a Monday long weekend is actually weekend or not I decided to stay in bed until 10am and perhaps just go for a dive later instead.
  18. No good on big tuna, just one little one. Not sure if to try again tomoz being a long weekend thanks to the King.
  19. A few yellowfin were taken today to 80kg, so might head offshore wide in search.
  20. Not sure I would tackle a bare but pretty certain there are a few camp people on here ๐ŸŒˆ
  21. As GPSguru says, PR or FG, though these will take a little practice but there are numerous YouTube vids showing how. There's nothing stopping you use the 2ft with swivel though but you will loose a little knot strength.
  22. Personally I always use a mono leader
  23. Hopefully be on the water testing the new motor, dive or fish will do.
