  1. Great report, what area of the solent did you head to. I mostly fished from Hamsted ledge towards the Needles. Looking cold already over there, in saying that I was up in the mountains catching trout a few days ago, with hard frosts and still some snow remaining.
  2. Its not so much the service hours but the time it takes people to do those hours. I would go through 4 services per year, 100hr oil change's and 200hr on the impeller, so could get away without changing the anodes as regularly as someone who might only do 100hrs per year. The amount of hours the engine has run doesn't really matter its the time period they have been in the engine that's more important. The 2014 model 140 I recently sold had no anodes left in it when I bought it even though they had been replaced 37 engine hours before according to the service receipts. Those 37hrs however had taken the previous owner almost 3yrs to do, hence why he sold it, he simply wasn't using it enough to justify owning a boat.
  3. I was changing the impeller every 200hrs on mine and couldn't believe how quickly the anodes go on them. Ive never had an engine hooked up to diagnostics before (from various dealers) they claim its only needed when you have an engine issue. The plugs only lasted about 200hrs in the Suzuki's too, funny how different they are to other brands.
  4. How many hours on your 140 suzuki ? are you changing your powerhead anodes very often, mine needed replacing every service.
  5. The second video shows exactly why right handers use left handed multi reels for jigging, maybe you should try a right handed one being a lefty!!!!

    Slow jigging

A few weeks ago there was a discussion on left and right handled reels. I commented on being right handed and for that reason use jigging multipliers with the handle on the left the same as I do with spin reels, both handles on the left side of the reel and the rod in my right arm (being right handed). As you can in the second video this is exactly why right handed anglers wanting to work lures to create good action should buy left handed reels for jigging work and left handed anglers should by right handed lures. When I use multi's for general bait fishing I can take them either way as there really isn't much skill involved compared to working the vast styles of lures and plastics available.
  7. I have those and other similar but mostly use them on the spearfishing rigging where extra strength is needed. I don't make any wire clips as that sort of thing is far more reasonably priced for us and I don't tend to loose heavy gear. Actually I was clearing up the garage today and dumped all the booms we used to make back in the UK from my wrecking days. Pretty certain we used stainless welding rods back then and they were nowhere near as strong as the ones we buy.
  8. No excuse for not posting a few more catch reports then.
  9. Look on the bright side, at least you had bait🤭
  10. Lets face it journalists don't always get all the facts spot on. The boat I own now featured in a new boat test for a leading boating and fishing magazine, having owned the boat now for about 5 months Ive found just about every part of the article to be wrong!!!! When I first started looking into details about the Honda 90 from sources from all over the world, again figures were not matching up.
  11. I've had an electric motor for about 10 yrs which runs off my boat house battery, which I recently changed to lithium. My alternator can charge it or simply hook it up to a charger at home. These electric motors are used on boats of 30ft over here rather than anchor.

No why did you do it Andy 🤕
  13. No, my investments come from things I can use daily and sell if I need to with little loss (usually gains). I know big money can be made quickly but it can also be lost quickly too. People I know who invest in shares and bitcoin etc seem to be always watching how their investments are doing where my investments are being used to get me offshore or to remote locations away from others in the 4x4's. These friends I have talk about retiring and doing the things I do now as soon as they have made enough from the investments, where I see it as I don't know the future so do those things now. Ive been able to spend my whole life with my family exploring this country to the point they are all grown up now and continuing a similar lifestyle. So many people I know talked of taking a year off to drive around the country with their kids but never did it and now their kids like mine are grown up doing their own thing even though they could afford several years off. I also have some very wealthy friends with large investments and properties all over the world who have addmited they have not seen much of the real world even though they have traveled it well. 5 star hotels and luxury transport often misses out on so much.

Its exactly the same as doing lamb. Goat is double the price of lamb if you were to buy it as its a more preferred meat by many. Im sure an old billy goat would be pretty nasty to eat but those are killed as pests and left for the dingos. Im not a fan of the wild pigs "boars" or samba deer but all the other species of dear she shoots are good.

  18. I think they will be popular on busy harbours like Sydney and Brisbane, in saying that there are already plenty of electric powered boats on the harbours already. We've had one local tour operator using electric to run his river cruise boat that carries around 20 people and only uses solar and sun power. The boat has been in business for as long as I remember living here 20yrs+, I did the pic's for his business many years ago https://wagongainletcruises.com.au

Thats pretty close to us "Broulee". I took the dog for a walk last night down around the lake by our house and never seen so many prawns.
  22. Drove 6hrs north and 6hrs back again with my youngest who wanted a music gigging roady van for his first vehicle. Emptied his bank but made good use of the van squeezing in a quick gig between polishing!!!!!....Thought the song from today was appropriate given he's planning on hitting the road as soon as he finishes school and gets some money back in the bank.
  23. Yep, there's nothing strange about the people of the forrest😳
  24. There are just a few perverts, they tend to live around densely populated cities, certainly not on the IOW!!!!
