  1. Yeah, the tip is still a good healthy colour so let's hope the rest of it heals OK Nick. Operations seem to take a long while to heal, My mrs is still not healed that well from her op, even after 6 weeks !
  2. It is very rare for a steering pump to completely fail. Just make sure you keep a couple of Litres of power steering fluid on the boat and that will give you a 99.999% chance of getting back safely.
  3. That is what I really like about the wrecks and reefs, you never know what is going to pick up the lure, sometimes you can end up with a real mixed bag, but usually very enjoyable fishing.
  4. It is RAC premium warranty, supplied by the local merc main dealer against non merc vehicles. It is good for 3 years, or 100k miles ( whichever comes 1st) and a max claim of £22k per annum. It covers pretty much everything apart from the obvious service items.
  5. It has got 3 years full warranty, so it should be ok. Having said that the electronic handbrake on the Volvo has not been without its issues. After 6 trips to the main dealer, I ended up fixing it myself !
  6. Well done Mike, you finally got your red band fish.👍 A can of petrol and a box of matches would have probably been a better VW option 🙄🤣 Having said that, I am changing the Volvo latter this week for a Discovery Sport ! 🤣
  7. We used to stay in a very nice rural property which was on the St Emilion vineyard. Very happy memories indeed 👍 However, as you can imagine, this year is much, much, closer to home, and we have stayed the week in Shaldon at a Beachside property, with just the 4 grandchildren.
  8. We do that a lot with the snowbiki’s, they are 5’s so I cut off the 3rd up and the top, or slice off the bottom 2 and re- tie the lead. TBH I like strings of 3.
  9. Wrestling is showman's act, all rehearsed !
  10. Only did shore fishing in my youth, but even then a good deal of time was spent on charters, and begging days on other folks boats. I still have the very occasional shore trip, but usually when I am staying beside the shoreline.
  11. Wrestling, good lord no……. Boat fishing as a sport is OK, but definitely not shore fishing with all that walking and casting ☹️🤷‍♂️
  12. All sport is way too energetic for me, even playing snooker is hard work, with all that walking around the table and all that stretching for the awkward shots !
  13. It is norf of Watford, so it is definitely 'up norf' 😉, so probably 5 degrees colder as well 🤣
  14. At least they were wearing white .............. they know it matches the Fridge and dishwasher in the kitchen..........
  15. Time depends on size, but use edible times as a guide. We put nothing in the water, and we don't crack the legs. Kyle is good at handling crabs and lobsters.
  16. Exactly the same as an edible, in boiling water. I can guarantee you will get hooked on the cooking aroma, which is extremely pleasant, like a sweet savoury smell.
  17. Looks like you had a good day Mike. It is not unusual to be out fishied when you are trying to make sure a guest has a good day. That Spider looks almost a keeper. We eat all keeper spiders, much tastier than edibles. The aroma when they are cooking is really, really nice. Most of the meat is in the legs, and it is incredibly sweet. Kyle has had them over 3lb !
  18. We have a few Mackerel around, but you have to know where to go to catch consistently. We also often get herring in with the Mackerel shoals, I have probably caught maybe a dozen this year, but I don't eat them and chuck 'em back. The Autumn will usually see massive Scad shoals, which are 1/2lb fish, but out on the wrecks the Scad are quite large (2lb ish)
  19. He probably doesn't know what to do with them either 🙄🤣 #twatfromessex#
  20. All the best with the Op Nick, I sincerely hope it goes well for you.
  21. What did you catch it on ? If it was a Red Gill, then Alex at Red Gill / Sakuma in Weymouth would be more than interested 😉. I can deal with that or you. If it was a sidewinder then you need to ring Dave Kiddy, at Kiddy Wholesale (they own the sidewinder brand and are a Torquay based company) and let him know.
  22. You have a Digital Yacht HSC100 Flux gate compass sensor, this is probably fed into the Radar. The status indicator will tell you if it has been calibrated correctly. During the auto-calibration process, the Blue Status LED on the HSC100 will flash as follows; State 1 Un-calibrated - long flash LED State 2 In the process of calibration - continuous LED State 3 Calibrated - short flash LED If it has not been calibrated, then that could be why your Radar is not working correctly. Calibration is easy, you set it to calibrate and just drive around in a steady 360 degree circle maintaining a constant speed The AIS Engine is receive only, so quite old technology now, and should be sending AIS data to your plotter, but if you can't see the data (green and red triangles), then either there is a fault, or it could be as simple as the AIS needs to be turned on in the plotter settings.
