  1. Fcuk off you happy tw@t 🀣🀣 I am grounded for a while the weather is perfect for the wrecksπŸ™„. My mate went out to the 40 mile wrecks today, and I am waiting to see how the fishing was. I should have been there, but I have to isolate for the eye surgery. 🀬😑
  2. I had a tip from a rod builder years ago. I the spigot is stuck, then rotate the rod and tap the spigot area gently with a piece of wood. To be fair, it has worked every time for me. My century carp rods would be a nightmare after a 72hr session, but a few gentle taps would soon have them apart.
  3. Possibly, I usually spend a minimum of an hour on a wreck, much to the annoyance of my crew sometimes, but also often find the fish, even if it is only largish Pout.
  4. How much time did you give it on the wreck, and what was the state of the tide ? When there seems to be no fish on a wreck, I usually swtich from slow jigs to Red Gills, first with a short 4ft trace, then with a 15ft trace. I also drift different parts of the wreck, and often you will find a small area where the fish are holed up.
  5. Same here, but I am grounded probably for the rest of the month, and the weather looks very good right out until the middle of next week Eye surgery on Wednesday πŸ‘, and then to be followed by some quite intense gastroenterology stuff πŸ™„πŸ‘Ž
  6. If you get substandard kit, then you must accept substandard results. πŸ™„
  7. Pro ! , I heard he was a jiggalo of the rent boy variety πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‡
  8. You dont have ANY hair 🀣🀣🀣
  9. Not factual, not even close, Norris was born 10 March 1940 in Ryan Oklahoma, and is now 81 years old .............πŸ™„
  10. I bet he was good at catching dogfish 🀣
  11. I told you he was a wrong'un 🀣
  12. Well, I am grounded for a while.πŸ™„ At long last, I am having the final cataract surgery to fix my left eye, which hopefully will happen next Wednesday.πŸ‘ On a less positive note, the drug that I am injecting for my colitis has suddenly stopped working effectively, the consultant tells me this sometimes happens, and he will have to dig deeper into his drug arsenal, however, this means a load more tests and also introduces a greater element of risk. Also, because I am immunosuppressed, I have been invited to have a 3rd Covid jab, to be followed in 6 months time by a booster jab., so that also needs to be done el-pronto in the next couple of weeks. So you can all look forward to very decent weather for the rest of October πŸ™„πŸ€£
  13. Well done, Steve, and I am glad that you are OK.πŸ‘
  14. What, the fish or you 🀣🀣🀣
  15. TBF, I guess you should have two categories, the heaviest round fish, and heaviest flat fish, with flat fish covering anything from a Dab to a Blonde (but not a ginger 🀣)
  16. If you are looking for monster porgies, then head further down to Boscastle / Tintagel πŸ˜‰
  17. Hmm, I wouldn't use Norton even if it was free, it is very slow, clunky, and difficult to remove. Unfortunately, McAfee went in the same direction, so over the past few years I have been using Kaspersky with excellent results.
  18. Is that like #pikeytheplumber 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣
  19. Cobbling it together will be easy with a motor controller. Just 2 wires for 12v power in, and 2 wires out to the motor. You should be able to put something together for Β£25 - Β£40. all you need is a 12v power unit (PSU), motor controller , and motor. Then some method of gearing the motor down by at least 10:1
  20. Catching a Bass on fly is probably the ultimate in Bass fishing and certainly an excellent achievement, well done.
  21. Yam and Mercury are very similar. Being a quicksilver tank, it is probably a Mercury connector. Both Yam and Merc come in two pin sizes, 6mm and 8mm, (6mm is usually the engine end on a yam).
  22. Just like Luke on here, it is also what I used to do for a living, when I was on the tools. I made one about 20 years ago to control a washing machine motor that was powering my old Myford ML4 treadle lathe. In reality these days it is quite simple, you just need a 12V speed controller and a 12V motor. I would be inclined to use a higher speed motor and gear it down ( belt drive, big pullet , little pulley) to provide ample torque, however, it will only take a small motor to turn a rod blank. Take your choice of controllers, I would go for one of about 5 - 10 amp https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/12v-Speed-Controller/36802/bn_7023478509 I would love to help Gary, but these days I am very time limited, so cannot commit, but always happy to help on the phone or email.
