Short weather window yesterday so managed to get a trip in. Nice conditions on the way out and to start…. Then the rain came and stayed…. Visibility down to 0.5-1NM meant was hard to spot tuna so the guys focused on sharks. 15 to the boat to just under 100lb. Not bad for the 2 of them. I did some fishing on the bottom, loads of whiting and spurs…. There was a low point to the day…. 4 dogfish on baited feathers at the same time…. Not much fun to drag up from 350ft of water 🤣🤣🤣🤣 long ride home, didn’t see land until I was half mile from the entrance to the haven, crew were relieved to see land as I think they were starting to worry to I was going in the wrong direction…. Hopefully back at on the weekend and maybe early next week (Monday looks mint for a tuna trip!)

I’d recommend a lazy line, If you’re running single handed and are worried about visibility use a bigger anchor ball, it’ll make it easier to see 🙂 only downside is bigger to store. if you ever lose sight of the ball/rode just stop. That way you can’t drive your boat over the rode 🙂

Great report, excellent choice of food! I’ve heard similar from.a mate who had similar experience with the tuna, busts as far as eye can see but blanked…. Can’t wait to get back out there once this weather passes through 🙂

A wallaby has been found bruised and concussed in the streets of Lyon… police are appealing for witnesses of a large group of men (approximately 15) dressed in red who are wanted for questioning…. A photo of the wallabies owner was put on the big screen with the below response…. Erm the charts are not thst accurate, they are a computer interpolation on the data which then is used to produce a rendered image of the bottom…. So basically the simulation data will have some parts that are a guess, hence the straight lines…

Two prawns were swimming around in the sea. One called Justin and the other called Kristian. The prawns were constantly being harassed and threatened by sharks that inhabited the area. Finally one day Justin said to Kristian, "I'm fed up with being a prawn; I wish I was a shark, and then I wouldn't have any worries about being eaten". A large mysterious cod appeared and said, "Your wish is granted". Lo and behold, Justin turned into a shark. Horrified, Kristian immediately swam away, afraid of being eaten by his old friend. Time passed (as it does) and Justin found life as a shark boring and lonely. All his old chums simply swam away whenever he came close to them. Justin gradually realised that his new menacing appearance was the cause of his sad plight. While swimming alone one day he saw the mysterious cod again and he thought perhaps the mysterious fish could change him back into a prawn. He approached the cod and begged to be changed back, and, lo and behold, he found himself turned back into a prawn. With tears of joy in his tiny little eyes, Justin swam to Kristian's home. As he opened the coral gate, memories came flooding back. He banged on the door and shouted, "It's me, Justin, your old friend, come out and see me again". Kristian replied, "No way man, you'll eat me. You're now a shark, the enemy, and I'll not be tricked into being your dinner". Justin cried back "No, I'm not. That was the old me. I've changed..." "I've found Cod. I'm a prawn again Kristian!!..lol

Yeah it’s really patchy with the weather. I’ve got a few days off now but already looking forward to getting back out again 🙂 may even manage a trip where I’ll get to fish 🤣🤣🤣

Well….. most remarkable thing was the sunshine…. And flat seas…. 😮 3 trips in 3 days, 38 blues to 120lb, many over a ton, happy customers, thresher seen in slick but didn’t take the bait 😭😭😭 Tuna numbers increasing, looks like it coujd be a good autumn… Todays trip blown off but such is life!

Local cinema is £3 a ticket…. It’s £10 for 2 tickets, big popcorn, big drink….

I crimp mono, rigs don’t last long but you only need a short piece, for wire crimp or haywire twist…. 49 strand doesn’t kink too much

We had similar on Weds, fantastic sight 😍 A mate on another boat has some brilliant footage… on a serious note a boat out of Milford Haven actually got lifted out the water by a breaching whale…. It caused quite a bit of damage (now fixed). I like to keep a healthy distance now, 40NM is a long way from home to get hit by a whale 😮😮😮😮

Sept is looking busy but Oct -Dec empty….. we are allowed to target them until mid December…. Drop a line if you got specific dates in mind 🙂 A lot of people out a lot of work in to lobby welsh government to allow this fo go ahead so I’m keen fo show the welsh gov what a recreational fishery can bring to wales….
