I’m the same. Rods get stored inside once they’ve had a wash. They sit on top of seats so can air dry, then get racked on the roof going out. Far less salt spray up there than on deck so that’s where everyone else’s rods go…. Deck mounted rod holders 🙄
20lb mono for uptiding. Some prefer braid but I find it’s tangles too easily…
For downtiding I use the cheapo eBay stuff, 20lb is thin, works well in deep water (400ft).
benefit is doesn’t matter if needs changing after getting frayed etc
Cracking pollack 🙂 beats west wales ones for sure 🤣
A mate had an 18lber out of Plymouth on the weekend.
As for the sharks, at least you were in the right place and hopefully hook up soon 🙂
Hardbacks work a treat 🙂 Inused to use squid too. If they are around in numbers they’ll eat most things.
I do wish hounds would grow to like 80-90lb…. They offer an awesome scrap for size of fish….
For business…..
Some you may have guessed that I’m now open for bookings as a charter boat 🙂
Im a fully fledged skipper with commercial endorsements. You’ve all seen the boat, coded for 8 but recommend 6. Open for all types of fishing 🙂

Needs new electronics but if you can get the engines working and get it back to U.K. would make a lovely boat….
It’ll be fine 🙂 Keep a spare tank with you if you’re worried but once you’ve used say half a tank, top it up and all will be well 🙂
I’m struggling to get out on mine….. life is getting in the way 😞
