  1. I looked at one but couldn’t afford one at the time so went with an Orkney Pilothouse 20. Pirate are a heavy lay up but as observed, narrow so good at punching through a swell. if on the drift, best to drift bow on not beam on as they will roll a bit (thinking about sharking here) but stable at anchor due to the deep V
  2. I tend to wax it first and works ok, I’ll have a look on fleabay and facebook see what I can find…
  3. I’ve found a Do-it mould, £63 delivered from USA, tbey are good as got handles, but that’s a plan B… Will have to knock up some kind of pin to go through the middle
  4. I’m looking for a 6oz in line lead mould. (5,7 or 8oz fine too!) I know that Do-It do a 6oz and 8oz combined egg mould that’d be good but I can’t find a U.K. supplier and postage from us is about £50. Of anyone knows where I can find one in U.K. I’d love to hear about it! Drilled bullet, drilled bomb, egg shape not too important… just needs a hole down the middle of about 2-3mm…. @GPSguru do you know anyone in the tackle trade who could help? 🤔
  5. Looking at 2 pairs of fusion speakers, the two on deck are broken, one in cabin is broken the other not great… Don’t listen to too much music but on a long trip by myself nice to have something to break the monotony 🙂
  6. Lovely boats, quick, excellent sea keeping
  7. Any reccomendations on waterproof speakers? Mine are old and knackered so looking at a refresh…. Fusion one looks great but are a bit pricey…. So any cheaper ones that sound good? 🤔🤔
  8. Just depends on how a big a lorry you use 😉
  9. It gets quite addictive trying to identify all the different species of blenny and wrasse 🙂 have fun 🙂
  10. Liferaft sold pending collection rod holders sold pending collection life ring still available…
  11. I’ve got NSS Evo 2 7” and 2x NSE 9 so anything else would either replace the small Simrad or be an addition but would need to work on same network to share transducers/charts/Radar…. Not sure yet, May not be worth the hassle
  12. @jonnyswamp you did well, I heard of a lot of blanks with not even a doggie 😮😮 so 3 cod was good going 🙂
  13. So it’s just under £800 new, service is £250 and would last 3 years….
  14. Hi all, Does anyone know if the HDS Gen 3 is networkable? I’ve been offered one very cheap and just wondering g if it’s work on my existing Simrad Ethernet network….
  15. @Jon cook if you need a rod rack I’ve got 2 for sale that came off a raider 😉 Raiders are cracking boats, very capable for their size so im sure you’ll be very happy 🙂 Congratulations on your new lady! 🙂
  16. 4 man Seago liferaft in service, but next service due in June 2023. Never used £250 life ring, £15 Rod holders x 2, holds 4 rods each, stainless steel, don’t fit my boat so surplus £25 each
  17. Yep we have police boats driving around and harbour master as it’s a commercial port. Fun starts in sheltered areas where there is enforcement…
  18. No idea… I guess harbour patrols etc?
  19. Looks like rules are toughening up in PWC (Jetskis and the like) Perhaps this is a good thing…. I know they can be a pain the behind in certain locations… https://www.rya.org.uk/news/rya-welcomes-legislation-to-regulate-the-safe-operation-of-personal-watercraft However I do expect there to be a toughening up of training for boaters in the future, akin to needing a PB2 to launch from slips and to berth in marinas, but currently it’s only being talked about in certain circles not even up for consultation yet but who knows wgst will happen in the future…. I think it’s on the back of this incident a few years ago… https://www.gov.uk/maib-reports/collision-between-rigid-inflatable-boat-rib-tickler-and-a-personal-watercraft-with-loss-of-1-life Personally if I see a jetski or RIB doing stupid manuvres in my wake it’s 5 blasts on the horn… just too risky… interested to hear other people’s thoughts/experiences… more training or legislation needed?
  20. Offshore 25 maybe a bit warmer…. Maintenance day on boat for me. Wiring up new VHF and foghorn along with wash and polish fun times…. 🙄
  21. I’ve got a gas bottle in a locker on deck, this then runs to 3 burner hob and oven in cabin… Ill see what comes up on survey report and if they flag it as an issue
  22. Does anyone know much about marine gas safety certs? I’m looking to get my boat gas checked but not sure what I should be asking for 🙄🙄🙄 @Saintly Fish @jonnyswamp any advice? 🙂
  23. Best advice is use a lead head and £5 of ragworm will last you all day…. It can be addictive and you’d be suprised at what you can get on lrf gesr, a 3lb bass gives an awesome scrap and a 1.5lb flounder will be stripping line 🙂 great to keep on boat for those windy days in the harbour
  24. Boat still out water do I’m not out anytime soon 😞 Spring time I’ll come out of hibernation!
