What CCA do you have in your battery? And what’s the capacity in AH? fir reference, I’ve got 2x 800CCA, 140AH batteries in parallel per engine (3.6l v6 petrol). I can start on one battery but it’s slow when cold, that’s with new cables and terminals. A lead acid battery will lose charge in the cold, the coupled with a diesel it’s worth checking west size you got to just be sure it’s got sufficient juice to start. I would also go for a 1-2-combine tyoe switch instead of mucking about with contactors…. The cheap ones got a habit of sticking open or welding shut…

Channel is fishing well, English Welsh always fishes best on the ebb. I’ve got dah off Friday, so trying to find a space as perfect tides and westhe for up there

She is copper coated so I only had a bit of slime to wash off. What burner you using there?

They are not as good as Avets. However, Avets need to be treated carefully and not crank the drag up and use it as a winch else you’ll overcompress the bearings and knacker it… Avets can suffer from corrosion but just was them after use but the drag is very very smooth, great for running fish

We just used to get thrown on the rugby pitch…. As a taller chubby kid I got picked on by thr smaller kids…. But all was fair when playing rugby

I’ve heard a lot of good reports of the Okuma. Some are saying it knocks the spots off the Penn equivalent. I’m looking at them for boat fishing, lures and such like for those who don’t want to use a multi etc. Okuma kit can be good. Some of has the build quality of cheese but the same can be said for all the main brands. Have a look online see what you can find but like I say I’ve heard good things. Other option is buy second hand. Usually lots of gear for sale post Xmas as fisherman get new gear…. Or most do…. This one is unlikely to get any unless he orders it for himself

Em suffers the same. She doesn’t drink coffee or tea so the old holding a hot mug don’t work. So use the zippo ones. However best remedy is catching lots of fish 🙂

I was suprised too…. Not as suprised by the copper who pulled in behind me and asked why was I fishing on the A48, I should try Cardiff foreshore instead and gave some directions as he was also a fisherman and found it rather entertaining….
