  1. I can’t but help but think that this doesn’t work…. If you looks around the world for all boats over the last 100 years they’ve had a similar prop deign…. It’s just nagging in the back of my mind that if a change in prop design that could up the capability it would of been done by now….
  2. Some passage planning needed, but you’ll be expected to use a MFD and then crew update the chart… as a reference. It’s 4 days on the water followed by exam if they think you’ve got the knowledge…. Hopefully I will do but back to hitting the books on tidal calculations… (thank you YouTube!)
  3. The divers are great guys around here…. They collected up about 150-200 leads and donated them to the charter boat on the next mooring… he was pretty happy 🙂 I’ve needed to ask them but I think they’d be happy to sort out tangled props etc too
  4. Yeah I’m busy refreshing my memory on the light patterns of minesweeper and the like 🤣🤣 Maybe looking at the 4 day course and then exam in late December… fist step to getting endorsement…. Just sea survival and first aid to do (both out of date) Then hopefully get the keys to a shiny new dive boat to skipper as a relief skipper….. they find the wrecks, bring me crab and lobster, pay me for driving and I get to fish them later on 😁😁
  5. Anyone done it on here? If so, what’s the course and exam like? 🤔🤔
  6. Oh I’m not denying that! I love a session on the blondes, puts a nice bend in your rod (ooo errr missus 😉 ). I kind of gave up targeting cod and went after the rays and if any unicorns turned up then great 🙂
  7. We get thousands of the rugs further down the down the channel. They can often do a good job of starting off feeling like a cod when you get them moving. If they are that far up the channel it adds to the disappointment when you think it’s a unicorn but no, it’s a blonde 🤣
  8. I’m tempted east of Plymouth… if it’s cheaper but I’m not sure on the giant mackerel situation east of Plymouth… whether I’d be likely to see much by catch when fishing…. I’ve emailed every marina down there, will give it a few days and start phoning round of no luck a day trip out to visit them all and see if can get a space
  9. Always nice to find a good mechanic! And even nicer to get clean bill of health too 🙂 Mine is due soon, May get it out of water in January for a few weeks as would leave Xmas open for fishing in the haven or bay eva but if wrecking…
  10. Blonde Ray, that’s high up for them…
  11. I understand she wants to boost growth but it’s the wrong way… Stamp duty cut with rising interest rates doesn’t make sense, target VAT on fuel and other areas that are driving inflation, make it temporary and markets won’t react as harshly…. It’s the lack of financial planning that worries me, no data behind it…
  12. I was thinking Plymouth as it’s reasonably easy to get to from South Wales by car. Brixham is a good shout as long as I’m close enough for threshers and other by catch. Weather limits some activities from Milford in the autumn so keen to expand my options… main constraints are: - How close to giant mackerel, will be economical to chase them from new port - what refuelling… I’m spoilt as I’ve got 24/7 fuel in marina currently - how long to get there from South Wales by car. Needs to e doable for a night before, days fishing and drive home but circa 10pm… Plymouth looks a good option. Falmouth be better but it’s a bit far to drive down for day… I hadn’t considered brixham but not sure of the big fish possibilities! Id be down there for 2-3 months… (late August to late October) before heading back to Milford for late October/November for the porgies before hauling out for Christmas maintenance
  13. Nice fishing! I find Sully bay over low this time of year chucks up a few cod or Cardiff middle grounds over low, especially on the flood, anchor towards Cardiff north buoy end on the bigger tides or tuck up on the monkstone bank on the smaller tides
  14. Anyone from Plymouth on here? Odyssey is looking for a summer break to the south coast next year… and I’m keen to understand what marinas to avoid and what the prices maybe 🙂 Also what my options are with regard to refuelling given I’m a petrol 🙂
  15. After one of above for uptide fishing. Not too bothered about cosmetics just needs to work, I.e no knackered bearings etc! It’s for occasional uptide fishing so not looking to pay much, cheaper the better 😂😂😂😂
  16. Top dangling 🙂 lots of words, lots of pics 9/10. Lost a point for lack of details on food choices 🙂
  17. She’s only a 5ft tiddler but deffo a keeper…. 🙂
  18. Saw this and looks like a banging line up…. I mean is Jill Scott the singer or footballer? Looks a hell of a day out 😉
  19. @JonC you’ve put a bad idea in my mind… 😁😁😁😁😁
