  1. Cod tastes better than rays…. It’s sole purpose is to keep me entertained until shark time again 😂😂😂
  2. https://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/community/article/Buying-a-Boat/buying-a-boat-in-europe-after-brexit
  3. Looking good 🙂 glad you’re enjoying. (stunning scenery by the way 🙂 )
  4. There is a small repair shop in the Welsh valleys, if you have an insurance claim that’s beyond economic repair they basically buy the wreck and strip it if stuff. I dropped them a line and sourced it for me. They do the same for campervan parts…. Only I think caravan/camper parts don’t have the word marine with the corresponding premium! On another note… my new lights arrived…. Looks great 🙂 I’ll be lighting up Cardiff bay for sure 🙂
  5. Work starts Saturday 🙂 Hailer horn, deck lights and hopefully ill be the first U.K. boat to have Durabrite lights as well 😁😁😁 should arrive tomorrow and look the dogs danglies 😍 I looked for a new fridge door after mine broke when I hit a wave £400…. (A new fridge is £1200) went to local caravan breakers and got a second hand one for £40 🙂
  6. Not really unless you’ve got some kind of isolation switch to split them from being in parallel. then you can use another controller from your panel to do the work but I’d be tempted to fit another panel and controller dedicated for your starter, then use the current dual output controller to charge your 2 house batteries but make sure you’ve got an isolation switch to isolate them from each other 🙂 (a 1-2-combine would work)
  7. If you’ve got the 2x house wired in parallel no need, jusr set them up as 2 batteries. If you have 2 separate house supplies you’ll need another controller or use a split charge system for one house and start battery.
  8. Brasso is great 🙂 I used to use it on all my lures, also use it on reels
  9. The twist is hard to come by there are limited suppliers and they cost quite a bit… I have a supplier for the swivels, just looking if it’s possible to make the twist myself, probably not!
  10. Work back from the dash to the engine. If you can get a new Rev counter or a way to check the signal is there. It sounds like a bad connection so check it at the helm end and look for trapped wires in the middle. Hall effect sensors are very robust, far more so than optical ones so I would expect a broken wire somewhere
  11. Nice thick fish there 🙂 well dangled 🙂
  12. Ok hint taken folks! Inwas looking to make spreader bars and twist links but it maybe too much hassle…. Both are ££££ so I was looking to save a few quid… Back to the drawing board me thinks
  13. I used to give them to the pot boats in Milford, they always seemed happy to have them
  14. That’s the norm…. You should move your boat up 😉
  15. I’m fitting a loud hailer on the weekend I’ll get to shout at people from the helm then 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  16. I know the feeling…. wind is from north so rules out going over other side so maybe Sully bay, kettle on and fluke one out…
  17. Does anyone on here have any experience of bending wire or recommend any jigs for wire bending? Picture below of what I’m after making Im also keen to experiment with other very strong quick release clips but to do that I need to be able to form the wire…. Bending it around a metal dowel won’t work as is too stiff, I need a jig to help apply pressure and form a neat bend. @suzook12 @GPSguru resident engineering experts any ideas? the below is called an Aussie twist @JDP do you use anything similar or make/buy your own? 🙂
  18. Just wait until next weekend, bigger tide, everyone anchored on top of each other just wait for an anchor to drag and maybe like dominos 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  19. To be fair, the channel does fish well for rays, some lunkers in there too… Just if your after a cod you have to get through them all. I’m only cod mad as there is a cod comp next weekend so still undecided where to head…. I’ve got a few ideas but weather is now looking dodgy for my favoured marks, tide is too big for mid channel or do I head up 20 miles past the bridges or do I sit 1 mike offshore worth about 100 other boats and hope I get lucky 🤣
  20. Cool 😎 post ab intro into the introduction thread and the show us your boat, we love to see boat pics 🙂
  21. Well done for getting out, it’s very patchy out there. Welcome to forum, nice to see another taffy 🙂
  22. It was a club competition today, only 5 cod caught so I don’t think there are as many as people think… As for the cod comp, I think that there will be about 150 boats anchored on the coral 🤣🤣
