It changes every 6 hours….. so no point checking mid afternoon, best checking at 17:55 as sometimes it updates early…. I know this I spend my summer checking the forecast multiple times a day for shark trips…. Only now it’s for my run home 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s 60:40 for at the moment… Im tempted to take day off to have a crack but not sure will keep looking…. Charter mate says it’ll be fine and I should make the most of it…. But that may have to do with my offer of cod trips 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ll keep an eye on the forecast, just no likely looking weather windows anytime soon. I’m used to running as displacement speed but that will take about 6 hours+ which is a long time to be bored as hell 🤣🤣🤣

Planning has started for operation cod…. Going to try and run home on Friday afternoon…. @headlight thinks I’m mad but it’ll be wind and tide behind me. No underlying ground swell so hopefully not too bad…. Just to decide do I go in straight line across caermaethen bay or head towards the worm and hug the Gower coast line towards Porthcawl….

Sounds like an idea @suzook12 after all skipper is due to bring worm and we can always bring our own if needs be…. Frozen bait can stay frozen sadly blow lug don’t work like that 😞

Windy is 24knts gusting 32knts at 9am on Sunday…. TBH I’m more interested in Friday forecast to get up the channel…. Looks like it’s on, going to be hell but it’s doable 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve found windy.com best. That gives the wind forecast as a map and you get the forecast out at sea as well… There is a lot of low pressure around, it only needs to head a bit more north and it’d make a real difference

Looking at that forecast I would be cancelling myself… I don’t know the area but looking at the map im struggling to see where you can get shelter….

They are getting like dog fish in the channel…. Why anyone wants one is beyond me…. They get T barred at side of boat. If crew want a pic they can clean the snot themselves 🤣🤣🤣

80lb Sakuma works well… for me it depends on what’s available on the boat…. However Bristol Channel is so murky it’s maybe less of an issue for us. -

80-100lb snood, change after 2-3 trips. By then it’s been munched by hounds/conger/rays it’ll need changing 🙂 -
Yep still a member, was down this morning looking at new berth 🙂 just not been there much due to Covid but it looks like it’s changing for the better 🙂
