    Shark gear

Hi all, lolking to rationalise done gear so I’ll be getting a mixture of shark gear up. It’s likely to be. -Shimano 30-50 Normark 30-50 IFGA Ugly stik 50-80lb all roller Avet HXW 2 speed Okuma 30Slx 2 speed. I may also have a Stan Alba 30lb IGFA as well. Drop me a kind of interested 🙂
  2. I’d better not show that one to Emma..... she’s a blonde..... Woukd take too long to explain the punchline 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  3. Agree with above. It’s not a legislative change. I also understand that changes apply to CB radio and other amateur telecom enthusiasts so it’s quite generic... Its not enforceable in current production as standards typically apply when you place equipment on the market. Once sold any legislation change cannot be retrospective.
  4. Stan over rates his rods. I’ve got a 30lb and it’s prob good enough for Tuna.... We get some big blues get excited at 150lb+ less than 100lb dont even photo 🤣🤣🤣
  5. I’m thinking that! most my gear is 20+ years old so I’m not sure what to do with new stuff 🤣🤣🤣
  6. Kids are going back to school earlier than planned so fingers crossed.... Im due to get keys to new house on 12th so if we ain’t allowed out it’s not too bad, but we better be out by Easter 😬😬😬😬
  7. 6’6” standup up stick IFGA 50lb also getting 6’6 IFGA 20lb in same colours for the blues.... Seriousky impressed with Jon the tod builder, he’s giving me pictures all the way, checking im happy etc 🙂
  8. It’s more popular in the states than this side of the pond abs thankfully my builder is open to new ideas 🙂
  9. Yep, Its a 50lb class rod. The line will want to twist around so you allow it to twist and run under the blank to make it easier when fighting mackerel and mako 😉
  10. Swiss cheese maybe but not a watch....
  11. Looks like a few more weeks for Wales 😞 but fishing is crap in March for us April should be better and fingers crossed diy completed too 🤣🤣🤣
  12. Whiting, squid, joeys and sardines. They are there but not in shoals and with 300ft of water to cover it’s hard to find them 😬
  13. Customs are a nightmare currently. Took 4 weeks for some parts to clear customs for work. 2 days from China to U.K. 4 weeks to get out of UPD warehouse 😬 im getting regular updates so exciting stuff 🙂
  14. I’m waiting for my first ever custom built rod. I’ve never really had new gear only 2nd hand kit... quick teaser of the under whipping 🙂
  15. Catch as you drift..... I wish! I had 4 on the boat last year. One in summer and 3 in December!
  16. Yep I know 😞 But if you buddy up with friendly charter skipper you can get 200kg of mackerel frames (heads and guts) for £0.50 per kg it’s cheaper than fuel and the months spent trying to find them! 😬😬😬😬😬 Hopefulky enough fish to make 400kg of chum which is about 30 trips so maybe a season.... I can keep adding to it with left over bait etc 🙂
  17. Yep, special breed. Eats dogfish whole so Andy won’t like it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’ve not done much bream fishing, but when I have I never groundbait. I’ve found plagues of dogfish follow so benefits are outweighed by negatives sadly
  18. So contract sent off today.... hopefully I’ll be a new home owner on 12th March. Freezer identified, bait source identified for a bargain price! Just got to wait now...... 😬😬😬😬
  19. Minced mackerel rice and fish oil in a blender, freezer and drop at slack water. Full run of tide will disperse too quickly
  20. Sounds good! I’ve seen a 450l version cheap locally and they’ll deliver too so if I can exchange contracts on old and new houses this week I’ll get it on order. Plan to get 150-200kg of mackerel/sardines or see if Ammo will give a good price on 20 blocks of chum. Rest is room ready for pollack and cod fillets that Emma will catch for me 🙂 I just get to helm and unhook if we go reefing.... beats me on reefing and winter cod fishing 😬😬😬😬😬
  21. I’d check - fluid levels - seals on ram - WD40 on switch - careful inspection of harness for breaks etc
  22. If that’s the one down in Plymouth it’s a cracker! Nice boats, bit less beam than an offshore 25 but good sea keeping qualities. Nice boats though
