A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized She was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his:
Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out. "Business trip or pleasure?"
She turned, smiled and said. "Business. I’m going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston."
He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen Sitting next to him and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs!
Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked. “What’s your Business at this convention?"
“Lecturer." She responded. "I use information that I have learned from my Personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality."
“Really?” He said. “And what kind of myths are there?”
“Well.” She explained. “One popular myth is that African-American men are The most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is That Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is men of Mexican Descent who are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with Absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck."
Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed.. "I’m Sorry." She said, “I shouldn't really be discussing all of this with you. I don’t even know your name."
"Tonto." The man said. "Tonto Gonzales, but my friends call me Bubba.- Geoff, suzook12 and thejollysinker

Any recommendations?
I’ve got a nice set which are more suited to beach/chilling out than working on a boat.
Im after a set of polarised ones which don’t cost the earth (in case they fall overboard) but need to work and not fall apart… any recommendations? 🙂

Have you considered a shoot-through transducer instead? I had an Airmar M265 CHIRP one on JG and it was excellent at holding bottom at all speeds with no interference or prop wash. And no holes in the hull.

The M260/265 series is on the steep side, but there are more basic options available that might need your needs.
Back to talking transducers….
I don’t suppose you got any photos of their drifting over fish? It looks like a great unit but don’t want to spend the money without having an idea that it’s going to cover my needs….

Nice to see you got out Stu 🙂
You caught more cod than all the Penarth charter boats combined. One had only 1 bite in his daytime trip and not even that on the evening trip 😮
-
Stunning forecast on weekend but Saturday it’s doing a refit on downstairs loo, Sunday it’s SCBI AGM in London so no fishing again 😞
-
I’ve got 4x Team Daiwa boat, excellent rods, better than the kenzakis, great fittings, plenty of power in the bottom end but light enough to use reefing for pollack and still get good sport. Mine are 12-20lb.
I’ve not tried the tournament ones but I’m sure they are also good

Well, I do drive a delorean 😉
GREAT SCOTT! 😮😮

You found a cod…. Most people are struggling to do that so hats off for bagging one 🙂
-
Post man has been bringing a few presents for the boat…. One little extra for myself too..
Just need to wait until spring f to get out there and get on the cod/bass/pollack/wrasse… I’ll be looking to run some dedicated SPJ trips in the spring, 10hr trips and fish a number of marks (inshore and offshore) depending on the state of tide… any jiggers interested in a day out drop a line 🙂

Good skills 🙂
I didn’t enter but managed, poor cod, blue whiting, whiting, porbeagle, blue shark, bft, doggie, conger, mackerel, pollack, coalfish, launce, Ballan wrasse, cuckcoo wrasse. Spur dogs, codling…
I didn’t fish out of Cardiff so missed out on hounds and 4 types of ray… so I still wouldn’t have scored highly!

Needs deleting as sorted

Nice fishing 🙂
4m+ swell in west wales so no fishing for me…. Howling gales… 😞

I use a paravane if I’m bored and fancy a scenic cruise 🙂 I run it about 8ft up from a J13B on an old spinning rod. No big bass but had some when cruising the haven at 3knts
-
Just ordered first of my prezzies (to myself as it’s easier that way) nice bunch of jigs….
just doing final research for the next purchase after successful sales on eBay of various fishing related items….
-
4-5 knots is a typical trolling speed. I’d also advise a paravane to get keep your lure/bait down
-
Excellent condition, little use. 2 speed. Loaded with Hollowcore and topshot (needs a new topshot, I can do this if you prefer) comes with clamp box and tools.
£500 inc braid
£450 no braid

Merry Christmas to you too Pete 🙂 don’t drink too much 🙂

That rod and reel I have above is one of the ones I was offering for sale when you were after some. It cost me $1000 which equates to 500 quid, so hard to resist not buying it!!!!!!
£500?! It’d be £700 just for the reel over here….
Need to organise a shipping container for @JDP old gear, ship it back and it’d pay for my dream cheetah cat 😂

You should have made the business trip here, I still have two game outfits and two 24in Simrads with all the control boxes, transducers, remotes, radio and I believe auto pilot controller. Marlin are starting to turn up too!!!!!
Don’t tempt me…. It’s howling 50mph winds here, work is 💩 I could do with some sunshine in my life
