    I was hoping to have moved house in lockdown so that when restrictions lift I’d of done enough DIY to keep Emma happy until the weather was bad so that I could fish..... However it’s taking a while.... she’ll have to put up with half finished bedroom conversion if weather good 🤣🤣

    Nice cod in the Bristol Channel at the moment.... Im sure there are mackerel and herring in the haven too.... also some lumpy conger... Just wish could get out there!

    Hammerhead easier.... my berth in 2019 in mifolrd meant I had to reverse the entire row of boats into the main exit channel the turn 270deg to get to locks.... thecworst but was the berth was tight underneath a pub.... nothing like an audience to aid the pressure 🤣🤣🤣 Shafts are harder apparently... but you can prop walk them and you got a skeg/rudder to stop drifting beam on due to wind. Alrhoigh, last year I did see a big cruiser get his swim platform under the hammerhead and nearly rip the pontoon off.... 😮😮😮😮😮😬😬😬😬

    Legs aren’t an issue.... if you have the right one and look after it!!! Volvo leg is good. However it will depend on size of boat too.... if you’re running a 10m cat into a head sea it’ll struggle.... As for a 10m pontoon finger.... I’ve got 8m for a 9m boat.... makes it interesting on your own 🤣🤣 Practice makes perfect, just got to keep at it

    Nice fishing! Making me jealous! we get a lot of smaller pollack on the reefs. There are not too many wrecks and are around the shark grounds so I get distracted 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    So my cheap down rigger arrived ok 🙂 Currently it’s got mono on it, do I need to change it to braid? Or stick with mono? I don’t want tangles so wondering if thick mono is a better idea....

    Sweeeet! Im not into SPJ myself, more a toothy critter man myself. Prefer to sit back, relax and wait for action 🤣🤣 But great to have someone with such knowledge on board to help those with purchasing the right gear for their application. I know personally I’d be lost 🤣🤣🤣 Feathers and red gills I get. The rest is a mystery. I know what I’m doing with a nice big lump of bait 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Spiral wrapping is to reduce the amount of torque on the rod being transferred to the holder. Most carbon rods are spiral wrapped, so the path of least resistance is to spiral wrap the rod. It’s becoming the norm on big game gear, especially those who use light gear for big fish like popping rods. Looks like nice gear, I’m sure the dogfish will like them

    It works with uotiders but tackle is mass produced so that there is less value in it...

    They did the track for the olympics there was another called magic which was ok. I’m not a massive fan, just some of their stuff is ok.

    Prob 60-70k. Cheap running fuel costs as long as leg is serviced be a good boat. Volvo D6 is a great engine

    Yeah, Jon Malvern. Hes very excited as I’ve said I want a rod, maybe blue whipping to match boat. He’s seen a picture of boat and now has carte Blanche to do what he wants.... I’ve seen pictures of his previous builds for marlin/tuna/sharks and are stunning so I will wait and see what it turns out like 🙂

    S L O W ive asked for my deposit back.... Got a different guy building me some instead. Great guy, happy to try new designs etc, very communicative, I’ve had updates on what thread, colour guides, dates on blanks etc 🙂

    Terry is a good guy. Got my bees knees loader from there. Just have to pay for some shark rods before I order more kit 🤣🤣
