  1. I just push a button and my engines rise out the water.... 😁😉
  2. Cracking boat! Currently ranked joint 2nd with an offshore 25 😁 Obviously a bit biased putting mine first 😉 Where are you based? Look forward to a few reports when we are ever released!
  3. Just need to trawl Facebook. Can make the odd cheeky offer too. Can work 🙂
  4. Findafishing boat YBW Boatsandoutboards eBay and Facebook marketplace are good as well as the selling groups. I find gumtree full of rubbish
  5. I’m not a political person but as an engineer I do like to understand data. COVID deaths are deaths WITH COVID or earlier in the pandemic WITH COVID SYMPTOMS. The death is not as simple as attributing it to COVID so it’s quite difficult to compare death rates of countries. There is also the hidden impact of what else has been put on hold due to COVID and deaths related to that. It could be that once you take all that data and look into it the U.K. looks better? Or it could be worse. The main thing is the vaccination program. I think it’s been excellent. It’s very easy to look back in hindsight at what could be done better, but it appears that the powers that be got on witb it. Even our own Welsh Goverment have picked up the pace after much criticism. I must award full marks to Israel, they have really made an impact. Here is hoping that the results from their trials reflect in our figures and we can get ourselves out of lockdown soon. Hopefully leaders else where can stop arguing and focus on working together to fix this awful thing and not using it to play their own domestic political agendas!!!
  6. Reefing around hats and barrels is a tackle graveyard. 100ft- 5ft in a few yards. I don’t do much reefing but on the small tides it keeps Emma happy catching edibles. Hopefully I can use her skills to keep the freezer stocked with chum as well as a few fish suppers 🙂
  7. Original ones, single colour.... just like I remember as a kid 🤣🤣🤣 someone one is doing a job lot of stuff on Facebook marketplace, £65 for a a whole load of stuff
  8. Nope, saw an ad on Facebook marketplace made a cheeky offer, got accepted and posted a few days later 🙂 There is a flea market near me where a guy sells 2nd hand gear too. Buys job lots sometimes last time I was there 20 packs of feathers and hokais for £5 🙂 Ive had some bargain gear from there and Facebook. Mint TLD25 for £25 was the best, Powermesh uotiders x2 for £60 (sold for £100 each)
  9. Yep 🙂 I thought was too good to pass up. Not as painful if lose a few then (likely!)
  10. TBH it’s less on an issue with GRP boats. Radar technology should clear any feedback that close to you anyway. Obviously the higher the better, but it’s not as I’d you’re on a steel boat...

    My boat

Now we’re talking! 😍😍😍 I have a lot of love for offshore 25s. Perhaps the closest you can get to perfection in the mid 20ft class of boats
  12. Anyone here still use redgill eels? I paid £20 for 20 redgills, 35 shad, french booms, running booms about 20 muppets, 5 sets of feathers, 50 6/0 hooks and a filleting knife. Now I used to use redgill eels behind a bubble float and 5ft trace for bass off Gower rocks as a kid and drifting for bass on the boat (white was best) Hopefully be good for the west wales pollack. Anyone else use them? Any more tips if you do? Or is it all fancy slow pitch jigging these days 😉
  13. Hi mate, Try drum lord based in cwmcarn they do all our rapid prototyping for us in work. They are model makers so all the 3D printing tools you can ever need 🙂 http://www.drumlord.co.uk
  14. Need to remember that it only works if it can get a fix. Not always the case as I will go off Marine traffic 3/4 of way to sharking.... As for letting family and Friends know..... not always a good idea when you’ve sneakily taken the day off you get rumbled as they find out and didn’t get an invite..... 😬😬😬🤣🤣🤣
  15. First of all, don’t do it. If you can navigate around it then do so. It may be longer to navigate but if you can find flat water and it’s 2-3 miles longe it’ll be quicker and more fuel efficient. Cross at slack water. If you do your passage plan correctly you can work out when you’ll get there and time that with slack water. If you can’t get there at slack water, navigate so it’s wind with tide. We have a tide race called the Ranny. If wind and tide are in wrong direction 5-6ft standing waves are possible. You pass this to get to the western fishing grounds so we check the weather carefully along with tides. If you do go for it, try to keep a constant speed. 20knts ain’t going to cut it.... these are typically standing waves in U.K. Take it at a slight angle but don’t zig zag on way through. Once you’re committed, you’re in. You ain’t turning round! Check your trim if on outboards for cavitation. Also check your depth for rocks etc. There is a reason there is a race.... bottom contours make a difference! Enjoy it! It can fun of done correctly... it’s a nice way to give your crew a wash if it’s a small race 😉
  16. I’ve had a few chats with Jon Malvern on the weekend. He’s open to lots of ideas for builds and as he lives in Spain is way to get parts and blanks. Happy to do a zziplex beach caster to a IGFA 130lb bent butt stick. Maybe worth an ask if Chris D is too busy
