  1. Two Avet SX on their way.... £150 posted with boxes and tools. can tell weather is poo and lockdown is on the way 🤣🤣🤣
  2. Just seen so one selling a pair cheap on other site.... hopefully he answers my PM 🤔
  3. Because I posted 2 in one go.... Happy now?!
  4. Agree.... Most modern boats are self draining. What happens when you get hit by a big green one over the bow?
  5. Get a rain cover if you don’t have self draining decks. You ain’t going to get much sunshine this time of year but you will get a lot of rain....
  6. Abs she’s back in..... Pig to handle at low speed in 40knt wind gusting 65knts.... now wait for lockdown to bugger off but I think I’ll be planning my spring fishing on the reefs for early pollack!
  7. If you have wind blowing against tide it can help straighten you out. Or if wind and and tide are together you can have a 4knt drift quite easily. Great for sharking but not do good for wrecking, so with a sea anchor you are using the tide to slow you down as you now have more resistance to the wind. fast planing hulls like mine ski off in all directions in wind.... prop driven boats are less of an issue.
  8. I had to sit my GF down and explain that I have a dependent to bring to relationship. She thought I had some kid hidden away somewhere. She was relieved when I said no, kids. Less impressed I’ve got a boat. It’s more expensive 🤣🤣🤣🤣 However, she is getting far too attached to my boat, has now started looking on Navionics as where she wants to go fishing next and has been bombarding me this week with weather forecast whike she is bored in work to plan out next session. I think I’ve created a monster 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  9. Set it up, can only promote more discusion 🙂
  10. If they all have a NEMA2k connection you are away 🙂 Youll need to set up a backplane and terminate both ends of the bus using NEMA2k terminators. it really is plug and play. You can choose a T-Piece connector or form a back plane abs plug into it. I have a Simrad SIMNET bus. It’d based on NEMA2K protocol however just different connectors. I have nearly all SIMRAD gear but my AIS is on NEMA2k so I got a NEMA2K to SIMNET connector and it was plug and play. On a power set up, personally I’d have a fused connection for each and switched so that if it goes tits up you can isolate one part and not have your whole instrumentation go down. I can sketch it out and draw a diagram if it helps?
  11. Do you chase tuna on your own boat in France then? 🤔
  12. Nice set up! It wouldn’t suit my fishing (offshore for sharks etc) but sneaking up on bass close to the rocks and points in Milford Haven of that would be my weapon of choice! Especially as I’ve seen some lovely fish come off Pembrokeshire bays from people with similar set ups 🙂
  13. Little boats can allow you to sneak up on bass/pollack. More flexible than a big boat in that regards. Howeber, no snobbery here, all welcome 🙂 Just watch out for Andy and his tales of dogfish....
  14. Good post @Scotch_Egg2012 ibmve had similar experiences. Most memorably perhaps last Xmas. Thick fog and about 150 boats heading out (fog arrived in 5 mins!) half turn around at barrage and go home, 25% stay local. Those who had Radar and could use it had a great day out.....
  15. I’ve used liver before. Worked ok for dabs and whiting
  16. I already have a 12-20 TwinPower. Looking for another. I know they are old rods but a lovely action so looking for another to make a pair 🙂 If anyone has one in the shed I’ll happily cross your palm with silver 🙂
  17. I’ll soon have to start a thread about lockdown purchases now 🤣
  18. £150k.... more of buying a house than having an extension 🤣
  19. I thought that if I did that I’d be the first member to get a ban 🤣
  20. I know of a nice 10m Cougar cat up for sale. It’s currently without cushions but just see it as a blank canvas to work with 😉
  21. I didn’t know he had owned one. I considered one for my first boat but my ex wanted a cabin and toilet.... not that she ever came out...
  22. @headlight is our raider expert. He has a raider 18 and rates it highly. Maybe make a cheeky offer on his 😉 It’s got a great set up and well looked after 🙂
  23. I just made a very cheeky offer on eBay for £105 and got one.... that’s same price as a Saltist that I was looking at to replace my 23 year slosh. It’s had a hard life and I’ll keep it as a back up as not dead yet. If I don’t get on with it, hopefully can find somone who likes it 🙂
