We got there and back and I didn't have to use my Abergavenny ruse either
Same here....
Nice afternoon cleaning boat and then cracking Sunday lunch late (albeit a late lunch) in Marthas Vineyard before heading home.... Just hope get out of lockdown soon so I can get back on the boat again 🙂

Nice report.
i was down winterising boat today service and back to Cardiff then! I was hoping the pollack woukd hang around in he islands I to the winter but obviously not......

Nah I don’t splice like that, I like 2-3 wraps around the chain and back splice followed by whipping....
However I do mine every 2 years but that looks good..... may give that a try next time 🙂 top effort 🙂

2 Team Daiwa 4-10oz uptiders (best uptiders ever made) with Saltist 30s for uptiding (Bargain too good to miss is use slosh 30 before)
Shimano Twin Power 12-20lb and TLD5 for reefing (cost me £40 the pair)
old gear but lovely gear 🙂
other than that is shark gear.
Various family members have been given GX2s as Xmas presents for when they come out on the boat 🙂

The temptation is to keep the throttle down all the way 😉
-
I can turn at 30 knots but I’m throttling back as I turn, then returning on the outward part of the apex

The first time I took my boat out my boy gave me a price estimate of every boat and kept pointing out the worst ones to hit. That was handy.
Sounds like Daisy..... she waddled down the walkway to the pontoon and dropped small ones all the way down.... I was following after with a poo bag very embarrassed 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Looking good!
You’ll soon work out how she handles 🙂
be careful with fast turns at speed. It’s easier with hydraulic steering but puts a lot of strain on the system, best off throttling back for the turn then throttle down to come out. Else all the torque is absorbed by the steering... you don’t feel it on hydraulic unlike cable when it fights back!
looks like you’re trimmed well which is good 🙂 should take a head sea nicely:)
like all things, got to get out there and use it 😉
you need a nice rocket rod holder now 😉 get your rods up there and a pirate flag 😁😁😁

Good day out gents 🙂
you’ll need to get it to WOT to check she’s propped right. Mine wasn’t originally but got it done by Yam 🙂
If you’re not running a stainless prop I’d also suggest it for extra 2-3knts as well 🙂
congratulations on first trip 🙂 any fish?

Poor bugger will charge double if the comedy club are watching 🤣

Bit of a transformation there 🙂

Foil wrapped 20 mins in oven, serve with green beans and new potatoes (pref home grown) 😋
However, I do feel it’s over rated. Mackerel tastes good As long as it’s fresh.

I’ve got fed up of the new format.... that and the limited discussion means I spend most of time on here, some top people around here 🙂
welcome aboard, I maybe picking your brains for winter marks in the haven and spring ones on the reefs as I’m doubtful if I’m heading back to Cardiff this year
