I have the outfits in my possession now, a couple of 80w's two 50w, a Talica 50 and a Talica 25 on T curves or custom broadbill rods. Ive also looked into posting to the UK which probably isn't an option as its so high, not to mention the import duties you get hit with. I haven't been able to contact the people who are heading over around xmas, they aren't fishing people, just other family friends over to visit their kids who are here on working holidays.
Prices aren't sorted yet as he's bringing more items for me to sell for him tomorrow.
The 80w reels are pretty huge and I believe around the $1200 on the rods, with the rods being more expensive than the reels in some of these setups. The Talica 50 is a nice light outfit to handle, something I would of been interested in myself only Im not as silly as I used to be battling big fish for long periods!!!!
Not sure if its worth you asking on the other site if there is anyone travelling here or if you know of anyone. A Tiagra 50w with a rod would set you back about 500 quid.

Will get around to photographing them soon, a bit busy on various other projects at the moment.

Short weather window yesterday so managed to get a trip in.

Nice conditions on the way out and to start…. Then the rain came and stayed…. Visibility down to 0.5-1NM meant was hard to spot tuna so the guys focused on sharks.

15 to the boat to just under 100lb. Not bad for the 2 of them.

I did some fishing on the bottom, loads of whiting and spurs…. There was a low point to the day…. 4 dogfish on baited feathers at the same time…. Not much fun to drag up from 350ft of water 🤣🤣🤣🤣
long ride home, didn’t see land until I was half mile from the entrance to the haven, crew were relieved to see land as I think they were starting to worry to I was going in the wrong direction….
Hopefully back at on the weekend and maybe early next week (Monday looks mint for a tuna trip!)

I’ll eat squid…. But I’d rather use the squid to get me some cod, whiting, bass instead 😁😁😁 (not that we get squid down tbis way)

The tuna season will close in a few weeks so I’m already planning on 2024 so if you could keep me in mind that’d be awesome 🙂
Hereford is only 1 hour away so pretty close really 🙂 Unless I can convince Emma that I need a buisness trip to Australia to collect some fishing gear 🤔😁😁😁😁

    Nah, I'm not eating a squids ring ! 🤣
TBH, not keen on it or Cuttle.
IMHO it can be put to better use as bait for proper fish to eat 👍

I will keep you in mind once I know exactly what he wants to sell as I also have some friends heading over around the new year from Hereford, so not far if they were able to take one back with them.

Happily have a Tiagra as well 🙂 They are in short supply in U.K. Shimano had supply chain issues so took a long time to get stock and forgot about adding them to the list 🤣 80W is fine too just usually more ££££ and being the poor Welshman I have shallow pockets!

That pretty much sums it up…
The tubs are there but there are strict rules on targeting them so the offical count dies t quite match my private catch log 😉
Another couple last few days, a lot over 100lb best at 160-170lb…

I’d recommend a lazy line, If you’re running single handed and are worried about visibility use a bigger anchor ball, it’ll make it easier to see 🙂 only downside is bigger to store.

if you ever lose sight of the ball/rode just stop. That way you can’t drive your boat over the rode 🙂
