Popular Post jonnyswamp
Had a chance of a mixed inshore day on Offshore Rebel with 4 other club members, so grabbed it Watched the Brit girl win the tennis thing, then watched the clock until it made a disturbing sound around 3.30 which also awoke the horned viper led next to me 👿 Met outside the pub at 4.15, loaded up and left bang on 4.30 (pub was still going judging by the noise ) Arrived at Weymouth a bit after 6.30 and with the mornings ablutions finished off in the Sailors womens w/c (mens only has 1 trap and that was engaged), was on the boat by 7ish and out under the bridge by 7.30 A 50 min steam around Portland to the aerials to try for mackerel resulted in none, not even a take, so rather than waste anymore time (we had frozen, so not too bad) we headed out a bit further to his first Bream mark The last twice I have fished for Bream, razor clam/fish out fished the usual squid, macky, prawn etc and today was no different Some nice Bream from the off for all of us (well, all bar the one that brought a banana on the boat and mentioned rabbits on the way down !) I'm not the good looking one in the middle pic by the way, I'm the one smiling inside in the other 2 Most fish were in this sort of size bracket, with a few nudging the 3lb mark Skipper called a move at around 10.30 to have a go at the Bass Some 24/25 boats on the race, so he picked a drift a bit west and off we went First drop and this came up It was Paul's first Bass and he's also smiling inside Second drift produced this It wasn't Kevin's first Bass, he just likes posing for the camera I wasn't feeling the love until I swapped my 10oz for a 12 and on the 3rd drift, hauled out this colossus Ok, not really a colossus, but around the 4lb and a lot fatter than it looks Two more Bass were caught, one a bit smaller and one around the same sort of size Another short move for a try at the Bream produced quite a few small fish first off, then the larger fish came sniffing around and were soon being swung over the gunnels I would think we had around 60/70 Bream between the 5 of us in total (maybe more as I had over 20) just keeping around half a dozen of the larger fish for the table We were putting back 1.5/2lb fish last going off With enough Bream in the ice box, we had 4/5 drifts over the banks hoping for a flattie or 2 This was quite slow with just 3 small Turbot that went back Called it a day around 3.15 and were back on the mooring an hour later, with the van packed and on the road by 4.30 (ish) An emergency toilet break at the cartgate picnic site/cafe just outside Yeovil added 15 mins or so to the return journey, as did the fucking Caterpiller dump truck on an artic taking up 2 lanes of the M5 somewhere near Weston S M A very enjoyable day and one that will hopefully be repeated next month GPSguru, Scotch_Egg2012, thejollysinker and 5 others

GPSguru
Some nice fish there. The sea looks flat 👍, same as in Lyme Bay today with F1/F2 all day, but I was unable to get out due to other commitments.
