Popular Post Odyssey
New addition to the team today…. Just need to fit new transducer (or mechanic can) when boat comes out for engine service and that’s the last of the majors done… Im leaving the heating until next year as I’m not sleeping on board until spring. New lights all work, nice to see what I’m doing in the dark now… useful for overnight shark trips 😁 Roll on spring, I’m fed up of winter gales… want some clear water for reefing, wrecking and sharking now! headlight
Luke your boat is moored very dangerously and presents a health and safety danger to other marina users. Also your boat goes to fast. As an ex bank worker and "elite" shark skipper (with nearly one seasons experience I"ll have you know) I feel I have the right to issue you a formal warning in respect of your bad boat parking and boy racer style of driving ! headlight
I was going to see one but the day before I was due to see it the owner increased the price from £40k ono to offers in excess of £44.5k so I gave it a miss.

headlight
Seller reckoned he'd had an offer of £43k. I don't know if that was true but I was not interested in getting into a bidding war. It's now on B&O or FAFB for £44.5k so I have my doubts he did receive an offer of £43k.

headlight
Yes after speaking to several owners they are only really a 16kt cruise boat. You can cruise at 18kts but that is pushing them hard and increases consumption a fair bit. 16kts cruise would add a fair bit of time on a 40nm plus each way trip when compared to 22kts cruise. headlight
Owners I have spoken to have said 16kts is economical. 18kts you see noticeable increase in fuel and 20kts is thrashing them. I was originally interested as an owner told me his 250 did 30kts at WOT and cruised at 22kts. He must have been on the wacky baccy. Mine topped out at either 25 or 26 knots across Cardiff Bay (no tide) after a clean etc and sounds happy enough around 3000 rpm Top rpm is 3800, so nowhere near thrashing it and consumption is around 7 gph JonC

headlight
So an average cruise speed of 17.5kts and 20kts against tide is near as damn it flat out ? Edited January 3, 2022 by headlight

Something like that, yes Possibly a bit more at WOT against the tide if we're being picky, but I stay around the 3k mark and am happy enough plodding about
