Can we keep the blood sports on the Ozy's thread??
This is supposed to be a fluffy Fred about saving life not murder!

Who's Fred?

And besides, are you not even a little bit on shaky ground with all the worms, crabs and squid you've directly or indirectly murdered in the name of sport?

They are natural foods for fish. I don't shoot them for fun. And any I don't use I put back. As I do with all the fish I catch.
Take your murderous ways over to the other thread!!

Pheasants and deer are natural foods for humans, and I eat both. And any pheasants that I miss flap off to live another day.

You say you don't shoot them for fun.... but you catch fish for fun and you put them all back. How is that better than catching for the pot? Inflicting a horrible lip piercing on a poor defenceless fishy just for fun! 😱 🤣

I think a spaniel would do you good, great with kids loads of fun 🙂

A Jack Russel if you can get them as a pup is another or try a westie. They are pretty relaxed.

+1 on the spaniel.

But then I would say that. 😉

  • 1 month later...

So after two delays because of the governments new rules on the importing of commercial dogs (yes rescue dogs come into that category), Friday we collect our new family member!! We are all very excited and nervous all in one. Leo is sitting his SAT's this week so Friday will be a great reward for all his hard work!!

It will be months before you see the real Cooper. Hope all goes well for you and him 👍

How long before you have him on the boat??

He has to be at home for 2 weeks without leaving the property. But that's not a bad thing, he really does need to laze around and put on weight.

Yeah, we took Simba out for walks, but was a good 3 weeks before we let him off the lead at all

A year on since the loss of our lovely Monty, we as a family have decided to start the process of finding another mutt for our home.
we have decided to go down the rehoming route instead of buying a puppy.
We are looking at young dogs preferably up to 6-8 months old.
We are scanning all the usual dog homes, but if you know of a shelter local to you that has a web site please can you let me know what it is. We are prepared to travel to find the right dog.
Thanks

hi neil there is a few dog centres down here in newport type in llanwern dog centre and it will bring up a map all fairley close to each other best of luck mate

So Coopers kennel cough seems to have disappeared. So I walked him to Leo's school this afternoon to surprise the boy.
Cooper seems to never have been on a lead before, so the journey took a lot longer than normal. But that's ok, I'd anticipated this and left 30 mins earlier than I'd normally leave.
He was brilliant, nervous but soon got used to the traffic going past.

Leo was made up and walked him home!
Best buddies they are. BF0E9671-BBD1-464E-BA37-96A48F2D2E21.jpeg.bc409318390292d1cb8664c120a14936.jpeg
