Top fishing! Do you only go once per year as it takes that long to get through the fillets?! 🤣

Ive heard a lot of good things about it up there 🙂 Any halibut to be had? Or is that Norway only? 🤔

@Ivan Tuna WOW!

Some superb fishing there, the guys look well f'kd in the wheelhouse.
What was the weather and conditions like.
Great report thanks for sharing.

Unbelievably it didn’t rain in the time we were there. It was windy in the morning but then settled down from lunchtime. It was comfortable fishing more rolling swells. There’s shelter other than from a northerly, most winds are some sort of southerly and you can always fish the east or west cod grounds. Kenny boat is 20 ton so it sits in the water great when your drifting.

I’d go more if I could. It’s a shame the Ling and Coalfish don’t go back as there’s some monsters kicking around but you need to get through the sub 20lbers first. We were lucky and got a cancellation for this trip. Halibut yes he gets them every year as a by catch, we only had one that took a small Coalfish on the way up but it smashed the mackerel rig. Skate are there if you want them but it’s a 40min+ fight. There’s easier venues Oban/Mull for skate.

We’ve booked later for next year as we plan to go for a record Coalfish and Ling.
