I knew I had seen it, but just could not remember what it was. It is the thin beak that gives it away. We get them nesting in the garden. That one must have been coming back from its migration. Here you go Don't think it's a Wren, the tail is too long A Warbler of some kind I'd say, we've had a couple over the years around this time of the year when wrecking out of Weymouth

Dicky
I think it's rare that birds that land on boats at sea survive, they are usually pretty desperate if they land on a boat. Once out of Hayling we had a bird land onboard, think it was a Gold Crest or something on the way back from Africa. It sat in a coil of rope for a while and when it eventually took to the air a fooking gull took it clean out the sky. Josh

thejollysinker
nice report there with some nice fish to boot 👌 I toy with the idea of trailering my heap somewhere good like Cornwall but I'm too old for that shit. Easier to sail it off the mooring and fish the mudflats out of Teignmouth for dogfish 😅 Josh

I used to tow 1 hr to my local Kent slipways herne bay when I first started then progressed to 2 hrs to selsey now mostly Cornwall which is just outrageous 5+ hrs but it’s just that good down there .. either that or I just love it there is a wonderful place . But try to leave the boat in yards there when I can thejollysinker and Geoff
