Anyone know just how much more juicy a 115 Optimax would be compared to a four stroke?

My impression is that they were about as developed as a two stroke could get. It would certainly push that Raider along nicely.

Hi Jeff,

No idea on the Optimax but good to see you on the new forum (finally!)ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

Blimey, if I wanted to be nagged, Iโ€™d stay at home with the Missus๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Optimal uses direct injection IIRC therefore similar to EFI 4S. However more noisy.ย

Given a raider with engine at right height and propped correctly youโ€™ll get 0.8l/m. Depending on how far you travel/how often I doubt youโ€™ll see much difference in rubbing costs ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Busy couple if days, apologies for late replies.

Thanks for engine adviceย @Odysseyย I had kinda wanted a cleaner quieter 4 stroke, but as pointed out could consider selling it, an getting a more modern engine, but that wouldbringย  with it another expence.

Any advice prior to seeing the Raider is welcome. Given the fact I'm a young pup, the Raider will mean having to do my B+E trailer test which Iย could have got away without with a smaller boat - but thats not an issue an already in hand.

Kindย offer @andydavy, thankyou. In had seen Mayfly back in September, I've discounted it.

Im awaiting full details on the Raider an hopefully off to see it in due course. Its not actually up for sale, but reluctantly the owner has to sell it so contacted me. Guess it comes down to the money.ย

Ive seen the Polish Raider threads which as far as i can make out related to the earlier built raiders..... its a 2006 boat.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
