GaryGas
Hello, I have an Orkney Pilot House 20, I want to fit a boarding ladder, don't know how with 2 transducer on the stern and an auxiliary? any ideas
Andy135
How about a folding version that is kept stowed in the splashwell until it's needed? If you ever have to use it in anger I'm guessing you won't be too bothered about whether it knocks a transducer out of alignment... Something like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/303617881663?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=303617881663&targetid=1000009159147&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=1007009&poi=&campaignid=10199631724&mkgroupid=103308049633&rlsatarget=pla-1000009159147&abcId=1145987&merchantid=7197284&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqo3-BRDoARIsAE5vnaJAk0ExjYSR2zGKockiwT6_S88H-L31yXfPYqTX_be0oYXP44gpWfwaAt46EALw_wcB
Andy135
Or if a ladder really isn't possible, how about folding step brackets. Two or three of these should be enough to bring someone aboard. https://www.gsproducts.co.uk/stainless-steel-large-folding-boat-step/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAqo3-BRDoARIsAE5vnaJCl8Aoqxg2Wu75yKBSBcDgPrh6rnYrc0gC8i6SECabIeky3qYOXqwaAsXVEALw_wcB
Andy135
Also remember that if all else fails you can step on the cavitation plate of your outboard and use the trim/tilt switch to lift you up out of the water enough to scramble into the splashwell. But this really is a last resort and shouldn't be used instead of a boarding ladder
Andy135
2 minutes ago, JonC said: They are fuck ugly, sort of thing that goes on the back of a transit flatbed truck He didn't ask for pretty. And it would work if he can't fit a proper ladder.

Odyssey
I used to keep one of these in my middle underfloor compartment on top of my fuel cans. https://www.force4.co.uk/item/Lalizas/Aluminium-Boarding-Ladder/TCW?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=base&stock=23149 fokds that so easy to store. Just put It mid ships at anchor to get in/out 🙂
