Andy135
Now that the weather is warming up and the spring species are are showing I'm starting to think about fishing goals for the season ahead. Mine is to buy a boat and catch more dogfish. #everyonelovesdogging What are you aiming for this year?
Malc
Already have a dog on the score board, along with whiting. We have a species competition hence some of my questions recently. So it's Cod goggles off and see what is there that people don't try for. Andy135

Odyssey
Same as last year but one less to do…. - thresher - Mako - 6 Gill - 1000lb BFT - 200lb Blue (came close with a 180lb+ fish last year) - 300lb porgie was completed last year so let’s aim for a 400lb+ Shouldn’t be too hard right? 🫣😂

I should add that I know full well that Sheffield is considered the "South North" but it's still bloody far north to me 🤣

Grand BFT - very possible, my biggest is 109.5” so 800 ish. 200lb Blue - yes I reckon that is well on the cards 400lb plus porgie - again, definitely possible. I have physically seen 600lb plus fish patrolling the wrecks.

This year we are looking for a 30lb blond, a 20lb Turbot, and a 20lb + Pollock.

Malc
Revisiting this; how is it going so far? For me I have mostly done the "local" species, cod, coalie, pout dab, whiting, dogfish, lesser sandeel, but not ling or pollock yet. Outside of the competition we hope to get TBR, tope, huss and smooth hound when we go over to the west coast of Scotland. Andy135
Andy135
I've done 2 out of my 3 goals this year. Dogfish ✅ Cod ✅ New boat : not yet. Working on a plan but there's someone I need to convince first... 🤔 Malc
